Wales seem to be adopting a new kicking game, but at the moment these little grubber kicks are not working, we've seen one from Niamh Terry and another then from Carys Williams-Morris.

It's just gifting possession back to the Wallaroos.

Elinor Snowsill does well to stop number eight Grace Hamilton in her tracks but Wales want to see their fly-half with ball in hand more.

All this tackling is sure to be sapping Welsh energy.

I think discipline is going to be a massive part of Wales' game, if they can keep the penalty count low and watch their discipline it will have a massive impact on their game.

That looked like a lovely chip and chase from Australia centre Sharni Williams - but was actually an accidental knock on.

I talked about discipline being key in the build-up, Wales are coughing up way too many penalties at the moment.

    Australia 7-0 Wales

Australia have dominated possession with 71% of the ball and Wales have already made 67 tackles. Tiring stuff.

Wales are settling into this contest now.

A strong burst from skipper Hannah Jones, a decent scrum and now Jasmine Joyce is giving a glimpse of what she can do.

    Better.

Australia's ruck speed is really really quick, I think Wales need to go in with those two man tackles like they did against New Zealand.

Wales just need to settle a bit and almost take control back, at the moment they are almost playing Australia's game.

    That's disappointing from Wales.

First bit of possession but Emily Chancellor is pinged for coming into the ruck at the wrong side.

Wales would be disappointed with that defence, it's definitely not the start that Wales would have wanted.

    Iliseva Batibasaga, con Lori Cramer

Wales had repelled the initial drive but the little scrum half Iliseva Batibasaga found a gap to go in unopposed under the posts.

Lori Cramer kicks the simple conversion.

I'm a bit worried about Wales' defence.

It's all Wallaroos at the moment but Wales coach Ioan Cunningham will be pleased with that defence.

Discipline is going to be key for both sides today.

Australia have had 5 cards in 2 games (two of them red), while Wales had two yellows against Scotland.

Wales' penalty count was much improved against New Zealand last weekend, and they'll be hoping for more of the same today.

Carys Williams-Morris hopes her physical midfield presence will help fire Wales into the last eight of the Rugby World Cup.

The Welsh-speaking former England centre is one of four changes to the Wales side beaten by New Zealand for the game against the Wallaroos.

Wales have spent the week nursing some bruised bodies after the defeat by hosts New Zealand, including a visit to the famous falls near Whangarei.

    Now it's time for business.

"The most important thing for us this week was to get the batteries fully charged mentally and physically for what's going to be a huge game against tough opposition," said head coach Ioan Cunningham.

"Australia are a quality team, they have some strong ball carriers and some lethal runners in the back line.

"We know we have to have to start on the front foot because if we step off it at all, it's going to be a tough afternoon.

"We must hold on to the ball and take our chances - and also match Australia in the physical battle."

There's a long line of fans still waiting to get into through the gates, it's not surprising given that the Black Ferns are in town.

You can expect their fans to cheer on Wales, and they'll need all the support they can get today as they attempt to book their place in the quater-finals.

Wales' loyal band of family and friends are already seated and in fine voice as usual.

I'm happy to report the sun has come out after the morning of downpours, but there is a breeze around the stadium which could cause the kickers some problems - as we've seen before.
