"[On his dad Michael Lynagh] I think my brothers and girlfriend said he was crying. He won't do it in front of me.

"To make him proud is all I've wanted in life. I saw him cheering.

"He's my biggest fan and I'm so glad I could this for him."

Exeter Chiefs boss Rob Baxter told BT Sport:

"Quite frankly we weren't good enough were we? We conceded 40 points which tells you the whole story.

"We came in with the best defence and we haven't achieved that today.

"Harlequins have come out and won the game with their energy and emotion and they deserve massive credit. We can talk about it and analyse it but today wasn't our day."

    FT: Exeter 38-40 Harlequins

Harlequins centre Joe Marchant speaking to BBC Radio London:

"We can't believe it. I can't describe how happy everyone is.

"We came here to win and tried so incredibly hard.

"It's all about playing for each other and sticking together. When we've done it well, like today, we've shown how good we are.

"We've got so many young lads coming through and the more we can keep bringing those players on, the more we feel we can be up in the top four every season.

  7. 'This is unbelievable'published at 19:57 British Summer Time 26 June 2021

    FT: Exeter 38-40 Harlequins

Harlequins general manager Billy Millard told BT Sport:

"Last week took it out of us. Early in the second half we made some good substitutions.

"Seeing all 50 squad players out there sums it up. We did control the emotion well.

"Exeter are an amazing team who disrupted us but we kept coming back and hanging in there. Full credit to the group as this is unbelievable."

"I can't even believe I'm saying, 'can Harlequins defend the Premiership title?'

"I can't even believe they won it, but they really can go anywhere with this group of players from here. They've got a very favourable age profile and time on their side.

"I'm looking at Marcus Smith there lifting the Premiership trophy and I can't help but smile, what an achievement."

That was a match full of desire and heart and both sides fought to the end. A fantastic advert for the game.
