Wales just need a bit more urgency at the breakdown.

When they get into the 22 they look threatening but for not long enough.

Right then, what have Wales got?

Callum Sheedy takes the kick-off to get the second half started.

  4. Too many mistakespublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    HT: Wales 6-13 Argentina

    Ian Gough
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

They're up against a proper, seasoned Test team but there's just been a few too many mistakes from Wales.

    They're scuppering themselves really.

  5. Pumas in controlpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    HT: Wales 6-13 Argentina

    Gareth Griffiths
BBC Sport Wales at Principality Stadium

It started off quite brightly but has descended in the second quarter of the first half, as discipline and handling errors let down both sides.

The red card for Argentina full-back Juan Cruz Mallia actually galvanised the visitors and they deserve their 13-6 half-time lead.

  6. 'Warning signs have been there'published at 13:52 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    HT: Wales 6-13 Argentina

    Ian Gough
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

The warning signs have been there from this Argentinian driving line-out.

They were always going to struggle after that line out to get back and defend from an offside position.

  7. Half-time - Wales 6-13 Argentinapublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

That half was a little slow to get going but that was an eventful end to the opening 40 minutes.

Argentina are down to 14 men following Juan Cruz Mallia's red card for a dangerous tackle on Kieran Hardy.

But it's the Pumas who lead thanks to Pablo Matera's try, the only one of the game so far.

    Pablo Matera

    Argentina's 14 men lead!

From the penalty earned by captain Julian Montoya, the Pumas secure possession from their line-out inside the Welsh 22 and truck the ball up towards the Wales try line.

They take the direct route and it's former skipper Pablo Matera who powers his way over.

Nicolas Sanchez converts and that is the end of the first half.

    Wales 6-6 Argentina

Wales are back up to 15 players and Argentina up to 14 as props Dillon Lewis and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro return from the sin-bin.

Josh Turnbull is back on for Wales too. He's now on for Aaron Wainwright permanently.

    Wales 6-6 Argentina

Wales have a line-out inside the Argentina half, they secure possession and captain Jonathan Davies powers over the gain line.

However, once again, Wales' attack is drained of all momentum and Hallam Amos kicks the ball over the try line, giving Argentina a 22 drop-out and a chance to clear.

Not only that, the Pumas' chase is good and captain and hooker Julian Montoya earns a turnover penalty with some fine jackling at a ruck.

    Nicolas Sanchez

Nicolas Sanchez, the man who lit the fuse for that Argentina attack, has the simple task of kicking the penalty to bring his side level.

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

One thing that will frustrate the management is Wales' speed at the breakdown.

Argentina seem to have a bit more energy and are earning some turnovers.

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

Lovely feet from Argentina fly-half Nicolas Sanchez, who dances into the Wales 22.

The Pumas are on the charge now.

This is the best attack of the game so far, with Argentina's forwards carrying strongly and going through the phases.

Wales are offside and hand their opponents a chance to equalise with a penalty.

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

"I don't need the running commentary from number 10," referee Matt Carley tells Wales captain Jonathan Davies, in reference to his talkative fly-half Callum Sheedy.

In the meantime, Wales flanker James Botham concede a penalty for a tip tackle on Argentina captian Pablo Matera. Penalty only for that one.

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

Wales are in a promising position here, with a scrum inside the Argentina 22.

But as has been the way in this match, Wales drop the ball again and the Pumas clear.

    This is all very scrappy.

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

It's unfortunate for Mallia, there's no malice in it but you've got to adjust the height of your tackle there.

So for the next 10 minutes or so, it's Wales' 14 men against Argentina's 13.

Might that create a bit more space for players to attack?

It's going to be tough for the Pumas playing 50 minutes a man down.

  19. Red card - Juan Cruz Malliapublished at 29 mins

    Wales 6-3 Argentina

Matt Carley is speaking to television match official Claire Hodnett.

Looking at the replay, you can see Juan Cruz Mallia's head makes contact with Kieran Hardy's head as he tackles him. That looks nasty.

As Carley and Hodnett explain, they have no choice but to send Mallia off.

    Big moment in the game.

Referee Matt Carley is a busy man.

He's stopped play again so Wales scrum-half Kieran Hardy can receive treatment after a potentially dangerous tackle from Argentina full-back Juan Cruz Mallia.

He could be in trouble here.
