  4. 'England still have so much potential'published at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Maggie Alphonsi
2014 England World Cup winner on BBC Two

It was a brilliant display from England.

Ten thousand people in the stadium - I feel privileged to be here to witness that.

It wasn't just the win. It was the way they won and England still have so much more potential.

Unbelievable. You could see that England really wanted to come out here and make a point.

The Black Ferns were undercooked, it's their first game back in a long time.

It's going to be a cracker next week.

England are still out on the pitch.

They've done a full lap of Sandy Park and are still smiling and waving to the crowd before heading into the tunnel.

  7. 'We can't get complacent'published at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Harrison says England will be cautious given they are playing New Zealand again next week: "We've got them next week as well. We can't get complacent. We need to look what we can do better for next week.

"Today we were really looking at ourselves. Even in the Six Nations we've been looking towards the World Cup."

    FT: England 43-12 New Zealand

Player of the match Zoe Harrison said on BBC Two:

"The emotions are really high. We've worked really hard and we exceeded what we thought we were going to do."

On claiming a record winning margin against New Zealand: "I'm not sure many people know that. I've just been told walking over here.

"I think when everyone is told that they are going to go even more nuts in the changing rooms."

England form a huddle and then turn to the Sandy Park crowd to receive their praise.

Fans are on their feet cheering and whistling as the Red Roses walk round the ground to take it in. It is no less than England deserve.

To put that victory into context, questions were raised about how England would fare without some key leaders.

Star centre Emily Scarratt is out with a broken leg and debutant Holly Aitchison stepped in to fill the void.

Amber Reed, who was supposed to be vice-captain, had to pull out injured before kick-off. It was still uncertain who would fill the void left at fly-half after Katy Daley-Mclean's retirement last year.

But the next generation have just proved they are more than ready.

What an incredible performance from England.

The players are jumping up and down with glee. They will remain world number ones and that is their greatest ever victory against New Zealand.

    Zoe Harrison (Con Harrison)

    And it works!

Zoe Harrison lives up to her player of the match billing as she cuts through a hole in the New Zealand defence to score.

The fly-half adds an extra two. The crowd goes wild.

Harrison sends one last kick to touch and England send their maul forward to attempt another try before the final whistle. The crowd is willing them on with some Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.

Abbie Ward has scored two tries but for me Zoe Harrison is the player of the match because of her kicking game and the ability to get players into the game.

She's had a lot of heat on her because of the debate about replacing Katy Daley-Mclean but she has come into her own in this game.

England look keen for one more score as Abby Dow breaks down the left, then Helena Rowland makes a lovely offload to Lydia Thompson.

There is no way through and as the ball is swung right, New Zealand win a scrum in their own half.

Root around in the history books complete.

Before this, England's biggest win against New Zealand was 21-7 back in 2011. They have sailed past that today.

That will be disappointing for the Red Roses.

New Zealand catch their hosts narrow and centre Stacey Fluhler darts round on the right wing to score.

    England 36-7 New Zealand

There are around seven minutes left now. Can England get one more score to say they've put 30 points on New Zealand?

Would have to have a root round in the rugby history books to find the last time that happened...

Abby Dow cannot stop scoring tries. She is in electric form. That's a fantastic pick-up and she's away.

  20. try

Try - England 36-7 New Zealandpublished at 71 mins

    Abby Dow (Con Harrison)

    Abby Dow deserved that.

The wing was instrumental in a couple of the earlier tries and she finally gets one of her own. Dow grabs a loose pass and covers half the pitch to score.

Zoe Harrison has no problem with the conversion from in front of the posts.
