That's what it takes against a side like Exeter. We knew we had to come in and go after the game and I thought we did that in the first half particularly. We have to be at our best to beat a side like Exeter by more than five points.

Depending on who emerges triumphant in Belfast, they'll face either Ulster away or Toulouse at home.

Damian de Allende thinks he has got the turnover that would certainly have finished this game off as a contest, but Munster are penalised as the tackler does not allow the cleaner into the ruck.

Exeter go into the 22, and they know they'll need to make it a quick visit.

    Damian de Allende

    What a try.

Munster looking like they've found the score that is going to send them into the last eight of the Champions Cup.

It's a brilliant finish from Damian de Allende but the moment of magic is provided by Simon Zebo who holds his width on the left but has to scuttle back to gather it.

He steps on the gas and draws two men towards the touchline before delivering an outrageous offload out the back of his hands to the Springbok.

Carbery curls his conversion between the posts and Munster are nearly there.

Casey puts a kick in behind for Earls to go after. Stuart Hogg gets there first but the Chiefs are on their own line, they need a big box kick to clear the danger and they get exactly that from Jack Maunder.

Casey's first action is to hoist a box kick high into the sky, challenging Tom O'Flaherty to come and gather.

My word, Peter O'Mahony comes up with another unbelievable steal just metres from his own line. The man absolutely loves a big moment.

Danger repelled and as Exeter try to run it back Munster, led by Damian de Allende and Keith Earls, counter ruck like their life depends on it and win a penalty.

It's a proper back and forth contest, is this.

Conor Murray goes to hold up Dave Ewers and is initially successful before being brought to ground, at which point he finds himself on the wrong side and on the receiving end of Mathieu Raynal's whistle.

Exeter go to the corner and are well inside the Munster 22 with a line-out.

JD Schickerling introduces himself to the action with a thunderous carry up to halfway.

Exeter look to build but Jannes Kirsten almost inexplicably takes out Jack O'Donoghue a million miles away from the ball giving Joey Carbery the chance to stretch out Munster's lead.

We're in for a box office last quarter here.

Munster, led once again by the irrepressible Peter O'Mahony, go after the Exeter forwards and a huge counter-ruck yields a turnover and a penalty.

A chance for Joey Carbery to give his side the aggregate lead once more.

    Munster 13-10 Exeter (agg 21-23)

Munster's front row is transformed in one fell swoop as Diarmuid Barron, Jeremy Loughman and Stephen Archer come on.

The hosts make good progress up the pitch before being called for a knock-on, but Munster and in particular Conor Murray are unimpressed with the decision as the scrum-half felt he was illegally played at the ruck.

Sam Maunder is replaced by brother Jack.
