  1. 'Scotland building confidence'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    FT: Scotland 35-7 Wales

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

A lot of the victories Scotland have had in the last few months have been built on good set-piece and foundations.

They've known why they've won, the threat in attack. Scotland are building confidence because they know how to win.

The attack in the third quarter was the difference. They really put the foot on the throat and scored some fantastic tries. The atmosphere at Murrayfield makes it a very difficult place for teams to come.

    This is modern rugby history.

It's been a dark few years after so many defeats but that was emphatic. Scotland dominated everywhere.

Is this really a new era for Scotland?

    FT: Scotland 35-7 Wales

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

Massively impressive. Scotland fans can be excited. They've got three games to play and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could upset Ireland or France.

I don't want to get carried away but they could be looking at four wins in this Championship. Who knows? It's a great step forward for Scotland.

  7. Full-time Scotland 35-7 Walespublished at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

An emphatic second-half showing from Scotland, with Finn Russell at his sparkling best.

Two tries for Kyle Steyn too, a day to remember for the Glasgow winger.

Scotland on to 10 points, nipping at the heels of Ireland.

    Scotland 35-7 Wales

The clock is red as Wales look for a consolation score... Nope. Another penalty, but Scotland don't kick the ball out as George Horne goes for a run. Very odd.

Then we get a yellow card for a Welsh player - not sure who or what for. Turns out it's Rhys Webb for brutally ending that meander from Horne.

    All very chaotic.

    Scotland 35-7 Wales

    Jamie Roberts
Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This is a dark day for Wales.

They've been poor and Scotland have been a different class.

A penny for Wayne Pivac's thoughts!

    Scotland 35-7 Wales

    This place is bouncing!

We haven't experienced this for a generation after so many doldrums.

    Incredible scenes for the fans.

    Matt Fagerson

Yes they do! Murrayfield erupts again as Matt Fagerson gathers a looping pass from Finn Russell to plunge over in the corner.

Another tricky conversion attempt gets away from Russell, but he doesn't look too upset.

    Scotland 30-7 Wales

    Johnnie Beattie

Scotland have run Wales ragged in this second half.

For all Wales' defensive effort, Scotland always look to have time on the ball.

Into the last five minutes and Scotland are enjoying themselves, chucking the ball around, torturing the tired Welsh defence.

Another penalty is booted into the corner by Finn Russell.

    Scotland 30-7 Wales

    Johnnie Beattie

    Scotland will love that.

The desire and urgency to stop the opposition scoring even when you're well ahead. Steve Tandy [defence coach] will be delighted.

    Scotland 30-7 Wales

Rhys Carre gets his head down and goes for the line, but the Wales replacement is denied a score as Matt Fagerson gets a leg under the ball to hold it up.

    Scotland 30-7 Wales

    Jamie Roberts
Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You won't see many better tries than that.

There's a lovely kick, then van der Merwe not only has the pace to beat Cuthbert but the vision to pass - it's a try right out of the top drawer.

  19. 'Picture perfect from Scotland'published at 18:27 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Scotland 30-7 Wales

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

    It's a special try, there's a big smile on Blair Kinghorn's face.

There's so many quality elements to it. Again, at source is the lineout - the throw, the catch from Richie Gray, the drive that gathers momentum, the release from Fraser Brown.

It's picture perfect attack from Scotland.

  20. try

Try Scotland 30-7 Walespublished at 70 mins

    Blair Kinghorn

Game over. A special try, finished off by Blair Kinghorn.

Another lovely cross-field kick from Finn Russell gets it all started and Duhan van der Merwe offloads for the full-back to steam over the line.

Russell is off target with the extras but the bonus point is in the bag.
