    Justin Tipuric

    It's given!

It's a fine pick-up from Justin Tipuric, who doesn't break stride as he stoops to collect the loose ball.

It isn't clear how clean his touchdown is but referee Wayne Barnes is happy that the Wales captain doesn't lose possession at any point.

Gareth Anscombe converts. What a game we have on our hands!

It's a long old check, this one.

First they're checking if it was Rhys Priestland or Richie Mo'unga who got the touch from the chip ahead.

Then they're going to check Justin Tipuric's grounding.

    Wales 16-29 New Zealand

Wales are certainly going to give it a good go. Playing with penalty advantage again, they find themselves back in the New Zealand 22.

It's patient phase play until Tomos Williams tries his luck with a chip ahead.

It's fumbled, potentially from both sides and Justin Tipuric follows up.

Has he scored? There will be a TMO check but referee Wayne Barnes appears to have awarded one in the first place.

Either way, he's having a look at the big screen now.

That's a sucker punch for Wales, conceding a try so soon having kicked a penalty.

It's all gone a bit quiet again. Can the home side rouse themselves?

    Aaron Smith

    That's brilliant from Aaron Smith!

The All Blacks are instantly back in the Welsh half and, with penalty advantage just outside the 22, Smith spots a gap from the back of a maul.

Wales allow the scrum-half to dance his way through and he speeds clear for a fantastic score.

    Richie Mo'unga converts.

  6. Penalty - Wales 16-22 New Zealandpublished at 45 mins

    Gareth Anscombe

Another straightforward kick for Anscombe, and Wales are back within a score.

    Game on.

  7. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Wales 13-22 New Zealand

Wales collect the line-out and march towards the All Blacks try line, with penalty advantage.

Rhys Priestland's grubber kick doesn't come off and he looks quite annoyed with himself.

At least this penalty is eminently kickable for Gareth Anscombe.

    Wales 13-22 New Zealand

New Zealand knock on and Tomos Williams seizes on it to kick the loose ball into the All Blacks 22.

Beauden Barrett picks the ball up beautifully but he's chased down by Taulupe Faletau, who hauls the Kiwi full-back into touch. Great work.

Aaron Smith sends another kick high into the air and Rhys Priestland collects but Wales are turned over soon afterwards.

Another Smith kick has Wales on the back foot in their 22 but Tomos Williams is able to clear safely into touch up to halfway.

The last twenty minutes were much better than the first twenty minutes.

Wales have to work on their discipline in the second half, and keep the ball when they attack.

Hooker Codie Taylor has scored two tries and fly-half Richie Mo'unga has controlled things for New Zealand but it is number eight Ardie Savea who has proved the star turn.

Wales are struggling to cope with his attacking bursts and his defensive interventions over the ball.

For Wales, centres Nick Tompkins and George North are playing together for the fourth successive time and are starting to show some cohesion.

The pair have both been heavily involved in carrying in the first half alongside returning Wales hooker Ken Owens, while Rio Dyer has looked lively so far on his try-scoring debut.

New Zealand are happy to give penalties away as they're ahead.

I've seen them do it time after time over the years as they know they can score tries to win the game.

  16. Half-time - Wales 13-22 New Zealandpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

Gareth Anscombe's penalty goes over and Wales reduce their deficit at the break.

That was an entertaining half, with New Zealand quickest to hit their straps.

Wales will be relieved still to be in the contest, though. They've fought back well.

Wayne Barnes missed a forward pass from New Zealand in the build-up, but it was a simple but well executed try by the All Blacks.

Wales' line-out goes awry but they regather the loose ball before the forwards take it in turns to bash their way towards the try line.

New Zealand hold firm and eventually earn a penalty at the breakdown. That will feel like quite a significant win for the All Blacks.
