It was not the most fluid of performances from either side, but Wales will not mind one bit after securing the hard-fought win over Argentina.

For the Pumas it is a crash back to reality after stunning England at Twickenham last weekend.

Taulupe Faletau and Tomos Williams got the tries needed for Wales to claim a first win of the autumn, with Matias Alemanno scoring the visitors' only try of the contest.

It's been a good day all around for Six Nations sides after earlier wins for Ireland, England and a first ever for Italy over Australia.

France against South Africa is up next before Scotland host New Zealand tomorrow.

Next for Wales is the visit of Georgia in seven days' time. I hope you can join us for that.

Until then, enjoy the evening and the rest of your weekend.

I just felt the problem with Wales was the lack of discipline, I always felt like we looked comfortable on the ball, the scrums were excellent, the line-out was good.

Wales looked so good yet they kept giving away penalties to opposition.

When Wales had opportunities to score, they took them.

Wales coach Wayne Pivac told Prime Video: "I'm very pleased, we needed a response after last week, we didn't win many collisions, we didn't have a lot of energy.

"After a couple of weeks together another week has helped big time and I was really pleased with the fact that for the 80 minutes we just kept coming off the line.

"Apart from the driven line-out try I think we contained them pretty well; we challenged the character of the boys in terms of defence and work-rate from last week and they responded.

"We wanted to come forward onto the ball and without the ball, win some collisions and use a bit of footwork in attack... the most impressive thing for me was we showed we wanted to come off the line and hit some people.

"Ken Owens and Taulupe Faletau were still on there after 80 minutes, some of the boys put in a big shift."

Wales captain Justin Tipuric told Prime Video: "We knew last week we'd have a lot of stick and rightly so and this just shows the character in the team to bounce back.

"We made it hard work in the end, we know we've got to sharpen up on a few things and put another performance in next week against Georgia.

"The boys stood up today and put everything right... we could have come here today and Argentina are such a good team and let them steamroller over us like last week, but we came fighting, met them and came away with a win."

Rhys Priestland told Prime Video: "Argentina are a brilliant side, they've enjoyed playing against the teams from the southern hemisphere.

"We knew it was going to be a huge challenge today and to be fair, especially the forwards, they were very physical today so I was delighted with that.

"They're big men so the way the forwards tackled today, I don't think they had a lot of momentum in the game, so credit to the forwards today.

"I don't think the conditions helped us today, I know the roof was closed and it's so wet in here.

"It was difficult negotiating the play and I know our defending won us the game today."

I don't think the two sides were at their best, I think Wales defended a lot better.

What was clear to me watching the game today was that Wales have been working on their structure and psychological attitude.

As Derwyn Jones says, Gethin Jenkins will be delighted with the defensive effort shown in that second half particularly.

The final 20 minutes today were noticeably better than the same spell against New Zealand seven days ago.

Wales hold on to claim victory over Argentina!

Credit has to go the Welsh defence in the final 10 minutes, the Pumas could not get out of their own half.

After going 6-0 up through two Emiliano Boffelli penalties Wales took control of the game.

Birthday boy Taulupe Faletau got the game's first try late in the first half before Tomos Williams charged down Juan Cruz Mallia's kick to cross for a second.

Argentina did hit back through Matias Alemanno after dominating possession and territory for long spells in the second half.

But when it mattered at the end the Welsh defence held firm to secure a hard-fought win against Argentina.

The Welsh fans thought the game was over as they regained possession but referee Ben O'Keeffe had already blown for a penalty for offside against Wales.

Argentina regain possession on their own five-metre line after the ball is dropped by Wales, but they only make a few metres with the clearing kick.

Argentina have the ball with three minutes left but they are still inside their own half.

Tomos Williams makes a great tackle to stop the Pumas being able to spread the ball wide to the right where the backs were lining up.

Chants of 'Wales, Wales, Wales' ring round as Wales steal the ball back but are quickly replaced by groans as possession is kicked straight back to Argentina.

Louis Rees-Zammit goes hurtling after Rhys Priestland's clearing kick and despite his error earlier, Juan Cruz Mallia calmly dummies a kick before making a few meters along the touchline.

We have gone back to a bit of kick tennis now, which will wind the clock down from a Welsh point of view.
