    Ireland 17-9 England

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

By sheer numbers and the pressure Ireland were applying, that try had to come. I'm delighted for Robbie Henshaw who has had a frustrated time of late.

  2. 'Smart play'published at 18:38 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 17-9 England

    Jamie Heaslip

Such smart play. Nice hands from Bundee Aki then Robbie Henshaw cruises in.

    Robbie Henshaw (con Johnny Sexton)

    Is that the Grand Slam?

Ireland have the man advantage in the backs and the centres combine as Bundee Aki puts Robbie Henshaw through the gap.

Johnny Sexton extends the Six Nations' points record by another two with the conversion.

  4. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Ireland 15-9 England

Ireland have a rare chance to attack deep in English territory and Johnny Sexton kicks wide.

The bounce of the ball tricks everybody but Anthony Watson gathers before being dragged over his own line.

Ireland have the five metre scrum.

  5. Ireland missing injured Hendersonpublished at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-9 England

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

Ireland have missed Iain Henderson without a doubt. They are missing 'the grunt' in general and at this point in time it is very worrying.

  6. Replacementpublished at 58 mins

    Ireland 10-9 England

Henry Arundell has had a quiet game on his first England start and he is taken off for Joe Marchant.

  7. 'Ireland not used to this scenario'published at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-9 England

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ireland usually start pulling away from sides at this stage, but if they want to be best in the world they have to deliver.

Nick Johnson: World Rugby really needs to get its act sorted. This “touch the head, it’s a red” protocol is killing the game. Steward was out of position but the home crowd and the theatrics overwhelmed Peyper.

  9. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Ireland 10-9 England

Johnny Sexton, on his final swansong in the Six Nations, shows that he is only human.

A first Grand Slam in Dublin is in reach but the Ireland 10 doesn't find many metres as he tries to clear the ball into touch.

    England have the line-out on Ireland's 22.

  10. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Ireland 10-9 England

England are not interested in running with the ball in the backs and Owen Farrell fires up another kick to test the Irish back three.

It's all about the territory for the visitors and you can feel the tension around the ground.

    Nerves jangling everywhere.

  11. 'Ireland are worried'published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-9 England

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

England have to take every opportunity that comes their way for obvious reasons. Ireland are under pressure out there and they are worried at the moment. There was a question mark about Farrell's kicking earlier in the competition but he has certainly nailed it today.

    Owen Farrell

The first points of the second half go to the 14 men of England.

    Ireland 10-6 England

England are still at maximum strength in the scrum and the front row wins another penalty.

More cheers by the pack and another shot at goal for Owen Farrell.

  14. How Ireland win the titlepublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-6 England

    A quick reminder:

    • Should Ireland beat England, they will win a first Grand Slam since 2018
    • An Ireland draw, or a defeat with two bonus points - losing by seven points or fewer and scoring at least four tries - would also be enough
    • If Ireland earn one bonus point in defeat, the title will be decided on points difference

    Ireland 10-6 England

Maybe that is how England are going to play with 14.

Owen Farrell gives the ball plenty of air time and Jimmy O'Brien spills it forward.

The England forwards let out a collective roar as it means some respite from defence.

  16. 'Ireland looking loose'published at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-6 England

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

Ireland are a little bit loose in protecting possession which is a little bit of a worry from an Ireland perspective. England have made a good start to this second half.

  17. Ireland on toppublished at 45 mins

    Ireland 10-6 England

As you would probably expect, it has been all Ireland at the start of the second half.

Green shirts running at spirited white ones. England will want to hold on to the ball when they get it.

  18. 'England have nothing to lose'published at 18:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Ireland 10-6 England

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

England have nothing to lose here. They are going to run out of juice but they are going to have to throw everything at this.

    Ireland 10-6 England

Jamison Gibson-Park is too quick for Ellis Genge and he leaves the England prop behind close to the touchline.

He puts boot to ball and it's a straight race between him and Anthony Watson but the England wing is quick and he is able to watch it bounce into touch.

A good game ruined by a ridiculous decision. These laws are ruining our game. Need to introduce an Orange card or something of that sort.

    Jack from Falmouth

John Bavington: Appalling decision! How is Steward supposed to get out of the way? If he stays down and doesn't turn away, the collision would be much worse!

Ross Matthewman: Weak refereeing there. The crowd pressure got to him and he panicked. Never a red card in any world.
