Try - Scotland 7-0 Fijipublished at 7 mins

    George Turner

    Efficient stuff from Scotland.

George Turner flings in the lineout, it's gathered by Gilchrist and then the hooker joins the back of the maul and eventually rumbles over.

14-man Fiji in trouble early on. Adam Hastings nails the conversion.

    Scotland 0-0 Fiji

Scotland are building the pressure as they gather another lineout after Fiji's exit.

Fiji are pinged at the ruck, and Adam Hastings stabs the ball into the corner.

    Big chance.

  4. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Fiji

Scotland secure the lineout and work it quickly out wide to Darcy Graham on the right wing, but he spills the ball in the tackle.

Scrum Fiji on their own 5m line.

  5. Sin-bin - Ratu Leone Rotuisoliapublished at 2 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Fiji

Scotland get an early penalty and go quickly through Ali Price.

The Fiji lock, 90 seconds into his debut, deliberately obstructs the quick tap and gets a yellow card.

    A shocking start.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Scotland 0-0 Fiji

After a long pre-match ceremony involving the Princess Royal, Fiji's war dance, and the Proclaimers played on a brass band, Adam Hastings kicks off.

The absence of Finn Russell has been causing a stir amongst the Scottish rugby faithful.

His shadow is looming large over Scotland's campaign. He's everywhere, apparently.

Gregor wants to have a look at who can fill the 10 jersey going into the World Cup. Blair started the last five games, and has done well, but Adam's a top quality operator. He's had a great start to the season with Gloucester and deserves his opportunity.

  9. 'Great to be back' - Cotterpublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Scotland v Fiji (13:00)

Fiji head coach Vern Cotter has also been talking on Amazon Prime Video:

"Firstly, it's great being back. It was nice seeing all the familiar sights, catching up with a few friends, and we've been able to prepare well.

"It's gameday now, so we're switched into that focus. [Fly-half] Vilimoni Botitu] is a good rugby player, he's come through the sevens programme, so he's used to playing with that space - we're confident he'll give us a good shot.

"We don't have many nines or tens who can run games."

  10. 'We have to be accurate' - Townsendpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Scotland v Fiji (13:00)

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend on Amazon Prime Video: "You work on things you need to improve on from last week", he said.

"But it's a new group as well.

"We focus on ourselves and how to get our game in play. Reactive to conditions and what the opposition can bring. The players that missed out last week are keen to play. Some of them are very experienced, guys like Chris Harris and Stuart Hogg, or someone like Cam Redpath - it's his first game at Murrayfield.

"They've [Fiji] picked more of a running team, they're big men so they'll go direct, and we have to create errors in their game through our defence.

"When we have the ball we have to be accurate, if we're not there's danger - they're the best in the world off turnover ball."

    Scotland v Fiji (13:00)

Fiji head coach Vern Cotter is trying to plot the downfall of his former team this afternoon.

A fan-favourite during his time in Scotland after a good spell in charge that was so close to deliver a World Cup semi-final, I'm sure he'll get a warm reception.

Watch out for Edinburgh number eight Viliame Mata, too.

  12. Hastings gets the nodpublished at 12:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Scotland v Fiji (13:00)

After five games, Blair Kinghorn's run as Scotland's starting fly-half is over. For now, at least.

Adam Hastings - who has been in good form for Gloucester - has his chance to impress after falling out of favour earlier this year.

Gregor Townsend says he has been impressed with Hastings' game management this season.

Let's see if he can fill the Finn Russell role.

    Scotland v Fiji (13:00)

La Rochelle's Levani Botia, usually a centre, is playing at openside flanker for Fiji today.

It's a mark of the physicality and all-round skill of some of these Fiji players.

Nicknamed 'The Demolition Man' by some, he's sure to make his mark.

With this game falling inside the international window, Gregor Townsend is able to welcome back those players that ply their trade outside Scotland.

Former captain Stuart Hogg starts at fullback, Adam Hastings is named in the 10 jersey, whilst Cameron Redpath and Chris Harris combine in the centres.

In the forwards, Richie Gray makes a first start since 2017, replacing the injured Sam Skinner, and George Turner comes in for Dave Cherry at hooker.

Young Glasgow prop Murphy Walker looks poised to make his Scotland debut off the bench.

Scotland's autumn campaign continues against Fiji and, bluntly, they could do with a win.

They've lost six of their nine Test matches in 2022, and with the All Blacks up next, now is the time to start turning their form around.
