There's a little anxiety in the stands here at the DAM Health Stadium at half-time. Any notion that this much-changed Castres side were merely going to show up, roll over then beat a path out of town has been dismissed in that opening 40.
It's not been rugby of an especially high standard so far, and Edinburgh will need to get their attack firing if they are to put away this committed Castres side.
HT: Edinburgh 14-13 Castres
Edinburgh have had 79% possession and 78% territory in that first half, but have been unable to capitalise on it.
That is backed up by the fact that Castres have gained 107m from just 20 carries, compared to 98m from Edinburgh's 60 carries.
Edinburgh 14-13 Castres
The ball goes forward, Edinburgh survive, and the players head for the sheds.
Fair to say that neither side has really hit their straps so far.
Edinburgh 14-13 Castres
Castres win a penalty, and a huge kick from Julien Dumora takes them into the Edinburgh 22.
Edinburgh will be furious if the 14 men find a way through - they need a big defensive set.
Julien Dumora
The Castres full-back had missed both his conversion attempts, but makes no mistake on this occasion.
We will just about have time to kick-off before half-time.
Edinburgh 14-10 Castres
Down the other end, Castres secure a scrum penalty, and Julien Dumora calls for his kicking tee...
Penalty try
Castres discipline does cost them on this occasion, and Edinburgh have their lead back!
The maul is stopped illegally, and not very subtly - Quentin Walcker is shown a yellow card for his part in it.
Much better from Edinburgh.
Edinburgh 7-10 Castres
Another penalty for Edinburgh, as Castres drag down the maul.
Surely the referee has to have a word about the visitors' discipline here.
Edinburgh 7-10 Castres
Grant Gilchrist crashes over the line, but is held up, and Castres win a goal-line dropout.
Still, Edinburgh win another penalty, and again they go to the corner.
Can they make this one count?
Edinburgh 7-10 Castres
Edinburgh are looking to hit straight back.
Emiliano Boffelli kicks a penalty into the corner, and Tom Cruse, something of a maverick, finds his mark.
Here come the hosts...
Julien Blanc
Castres break away, and have the lead.
The visitors find space down the right wing, and Antoine Zeghdar looks favourite to score.
An excellent tackle from Damien Hoyland hauls him down, but scrum-half Julien Blanc is in support and dots down - it's an excellent score.
The conversion is missed though, so the lead is just three.
Edinburgh 7-5 Castres
Ah. Jamie Ritchie finds himself a wee bit isolated, and Castres secure a penalty at the breakdown.
As you were.
Edinburgh 7-5 Castres
Edinburgh win a penalty for a high tackle, which Emiliano Boffelli kicks into the Castres 22.
The lineout finds its mark, and Edinburgh are knocking on the door...
Pierre Colonna
The visitors hit back.
A Castres lineout just outside the Edinburgh 22 is slightly sloppy, but the ball finds its way into the arms of Pierre Colonna.
The hooker wriggles out of the first challenge, and then brushes off Damien Hoyland's rather weak attempted tackle to score in the corner.
The conversion is dragged wide.
Edinburgh 7-0 Castres
Edinburgh win a scrum penalty after the Castres front row collapses.
WP Nel has a big grin on his face.
Bill Mata
And they do!
Bill Mata takes the ball at pace, and you simply do not stop a man of his size from that range.
Emiliano Boffelli knocks over a simple conversion, and Edinburgh lead by seven.
Edinburgh 0-0 Castres
Edinburgh are pushing Castres back here.
They win a penalty in front of the posts, which Pierre Schoeman takes quickly.
Big chance to open the scoring...
Edinburgh 0-0 Castres
Andy Burke

Stuart McInally and Blair Kinghorn off injured in the opening 15 minutes. The stuff of nightmares for Mike Blair, and Scotland coach Gregor Townsend might be a little concerned too.
It's a real shame for McInally in particular, who showed signs last week against Saracens that he is rediscovering his best form.
Edinburgh 0-0 Castres
Blair Kinghorn hasn't been able to shake off a knock he picked up early on, and is replaced by Charlie Savala.
Not ideal for the hosts.
