It's almost a balmy spring evening which will be perfect for good rugby. Considering the conditions Leinster had to play in against Ulster last weekend, it's chalk and cheese.

Leinster have won 26 of their past 27 games on this ground in all competitions. They're difficult to beat at the best of times, but when they play here, they seem to have a huge advantage.

    Leinster v Leicester (20:00 BST)

Speaking to BT Sport, Leinster head coach Leo Cullen said: "It’s a great honour for us still to be here at this stage against a great team.

"It's amazing to be here at the Aviva. We are going to have a good crowd here today and that all adds into the unique dynamic of this competition. Our guys prepped well this week and we are very excited to get into it now. It's going to be a huge physical battle.

"There will be a good aerial threat coming from Leicester. They tend to go to the air quite a bit but we have a bit of experience there too."

  15. 'We are a different team'published at 19:54 British Summer Time 7 April 2023

    Leinster v Leicester (20:00 BST)

Speaking to BT Sport, Leicester head coach Richard Wigglesworth said: "We are a different team [to the one which lost last year]. We don't want to dwell too much on the past. A third of this team have joined the club this year.

"We are in a good place and the boys have been exceptional this week. They are excited for the challenge."

    Leinster v Leicester (20:00 BST)

Leinster are targeting a record-equalling fifth star on their famous blue jersey but they are going to have to do it without injured talisman Johnny Sexton.

Talented fly-half Ross Byrne filled the void with an inspired kicking display in Leinster's win over Ulster in the last 16.

Byrne scored 15 points from the tee as Leinster beat their fellow Irish province Ulster 30-15 to book a last-eight home tie with English champions Leicester.

If Ireland's Byrne is the challenger, hoping to prove himself as Sexton's permanent successor for club and country, opposite number Handre Pollard is the experienced veteran who has seen and done just about everything in the game.

South Africa's World Cup winner will lead the Tigers attack from fly-half and his distribution and game management has been influential in Leicester's recovery from a poor start to the season.

Despite the soggy conditions in the East Midlands during the 16-6 win over Edinburgh, the 29-year-old threw a no-look pass deep inside his own half to start a flowing Tigers attack. Expect more of the same in Dublin.

  18. 'World class'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 7 April 2023

    Leinster v Leicester (20:00 BST)

Leicester head coach Richard Wigglesworth said: "Leinster are a world-class side, with something like 30 Test-capped players providing depth that is the envy of clubs all over the globe.

"They are a team who move the ball brilliantly and that comes on the back of the incredible cohesion they have as players.

"This is a group of players that have spent almost their entire lives, let alone professional careers, playing together through the Irish system, from school to Leinster and then even on the international stage for Ireland, where they dominate that squad.

"We know the challenge that is ahead of us and that excites us. We want to play the big games, be a part of the big moments together."

    Leinster v Leicester (20:00 BST)

Leinster are chasing a record-equalling fifth Champions Cup and victory against Leicester will secure a home semi-final against Toulouse or Sharks.

With the final also due to be played at the Aviva Stadium, prop Tadhg Furlong says the schedule is a "fairytale" but Leinster will not allow their tags as favourites to distract them.

"It's all in place," Furlong told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It's perfect, but from a player's perspective we have to prove that. Every time you lace up your boots, you still have to prove it, every single time - and that's what we are focusing on.

"You have to do the work to get the results and every week you have to pay proper respect.

"You want to keep getting better. It's genuinely inbuilt. The lads want to get better and prove to themselves and each other that you are the right kind of man to be playing in the jersey."
