Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter, speaking to BT Sport: "Our challenge today is to make today at Sandy Park be so different to playing at home with your crowd behind you. We've got to make it feel like there are very few South African supporters here. We've got to make today about us, we've done it before here on big European days, we want to make it a big day and that's what we've got to do it again."

Stormers head coach John Dobson, speaking to BT Sport: "We have to be better at winning on the road, the South African teams. We're grateful to be part of this competition, we're adding some value but one thing we need to get right is the ability to win at some of these hard places in the northern hemisphere. It's all about growth in this competition, it's important for us and I think we've got a shout."

Exeter centre Henry Slade says playing with his best mates for what might be the last time is a "massive motivation" before the Champions Cup quarter-final against Stormers.

The Chiefs' squad will be broken up this summer, with a host of key players leaving the club, and Saturday's showdown at Sandy Park could be their last game together on the European stage.

"Some of my best mates, in life and in rugby, are in this team," said Slade on the BBC's Rugby Union Weekly podcast.

"They won't be here next year, and we have made a big point of sending those boys off on a high. You never know if we you will be able to play with them again, ever."

It's approaching the end of an era at Exeter Chiefs.

Many of the team that were Premiership final regulars and Champions Cup winners in 2020 are leaving for pastures new at the end of the season.

Can they sign off with more European glory in 2023?

Standing between them and a Champions Cup semi-final place are South African side Stormers, who are currently second in the United Rugby Championship and were mightily impressive in beating Harlequins last weekend.
