That's all from me on live text duties tonight. You can't help but admire Sergio Parisse - what a way for him to bow out.

Tom English's match report of Toulon's triumph is live on the BBC Sport website here.

    Until next time, bye-bye.

Sergio Parisse spoke to BT Sport post-match while being serenaded by a large pocket of Italian fans in Dublin.

His longevity in the game has been remarkable, and he delivered another momentous performance in a big game.

"It means a lot," Parisse said. "It's difficult to put some words on emotions. It's good for the team, for me personally, it's important - I try to enjoy every moment with the team, and I'm really happy because I think we really deserve the win.

"I'm Italian, so I'm emotional in everything I do. Tonight it was about just trying to enjoy, and just happy to play with this group, and happy to finish my career with Toulon. Just enjoy it, and have a good night in Dublin with the boys.

"There are a lot of young kids with a bright future. I hope they enjoy this moment, to play in this stadium. It's part of them growing in their career.

"We lost two finals in the last four years, so happy to win the third one.

"It was difficult, because I knew I was going into one of my last games, but I try to approach it just like another one. I just tried to enjoy it, and we played well as a unit, dominated from the first minute.

"It was important to dominate physically - that was the plan, and it's every time good to score a try.

"I'm happy to see this [the fans]. It's difficult to put it into words, there are a lot of Italian guys here to see the game. I tried to give everything for my country, and tonight give everything for my club. I'm happy with my journey. I just want to enjoy, not overthink, and go out tonight."

A hugely disappointing evening for Glasgow in Dublin, but it shouldn't detract from the journey they have been on.

At the start of this season they looked to be in utter turmoil, but Franco Smith has moulded them into a team to be reckoned with.

If they can build again going into next season, who knows what Glasgow could achieve going forward.

  5. 'You have to take your chances' - Steynpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 19 May 2023

    FT: Glasgow 19-43 Toulon

A gutted Glasgow captain Kyle Steyn has also been talking to BT Sport:

"It's a pretty tough one to process," he said. "We weren't where we needed to be in the first 20. To come this far, and progress the way we have, to come unstuck in the two play-off games, that will take some time.

"We had enough belief that we could win, and I felt there were lessons we could have learned against Munster that would have put us in a position to win. I think we haven't reacted enough to those, but I'm proud of the way we kept fighting. In play-off rugby you have to take your chances.

"When you see how many Glasgow people are here, you can appreciate how far we've come. Even without the silverware, we're massively appreciative of the people that support us."

  6. Player of the Match - Cheslin Kolbepublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 19 May 2023

    FT: Glasgow 19-43 Toulon

Toulon full-back Cheslin Kolbe has been giving his thoughts to BT Sport after being named Player of the Match: "Toulon have been in a few finals and come second," he said. "We just didn't want the feeling that we had last year in the changing room.

"This week has been incredible, all the management team and our families gave everything and sacrificed everything for this. We came to Ireland with one goal, the boys did really well - I'm super proud.

"Glasgow's a wonderful team, with coach Franco Smith - I know him quite well. They like to play with the ball, and for us it was about not giving them those opportunities.

"Every final is a massive honour. We wanted to leave everything out there."

Glasgow were up against a class team. Their best might not have been good enough but we'll never know.

They were so poor. They said they wanted to leave the pitch without any regrets, but they didn't come remotely close to giving it their best shot.

That's the hugely disappointing thing - if you're beaten by the better team, you can accept that, but in the first half Glasgow beat themselves, giving away soft tries.

They were just too generous, and weren't able to get back into the contest.

    Ihaia West

    And another.

Ruthless from Toulon, desperate from Glasgow. Ihaia West gets the ball at first receiver, no-one closes the Kiwi down, and he doesn't need a second invitation, darting over to score and take the French side past 40 points.

    The conversion sails through.

Number two for Glasgow's captain, who holds off the scrambling Toulon defence to score in the corner.

If only Glasgow had taken their chances earlier in this contest.

George Horne's conversion is deadly accurate from out wide - Glasgow need three scores in five minutes, which simply won't happen.

    Sebastian Cancelliere

Glasgow take this chance, but it matters little.

Toulon gift Glasgow possession from their own lineout, impersonating some of Glasgow's own efforts this evening, and Sebastian Cancelliere scores out wide after some good hands.

George Horne's conversion attempt bounces away off the post.

    Jiuta Wainiqolo

The Glasgow comeback didn't last long.

Cheslin Kolbe drifts wide, and finds Jiuta Wainiqolo with a nice reverse pass, but there's still plenty for the winger to do.

Wainiqolo does it with aplomb, showing quick feet and strength to match, holding off Ollie Smith to score Toulon's fourth try of the night.

That, you would imagine, is that.
