    Rhys Patchell
Wales fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Welsh do not mind the physical confrontation, but if Argentina cannot go round you then they are looking to go through Wales.

  3. Ouch!published at 46 mins

    Wales 10-9 Argentina

Wales penalised for holding on near the half-way line.

And Liam Williams has stayed down after a strong hit by Emiliano Boffelli.

    That looked like it hurt!

At last a Welsh lineout sticks - well done Dewi Lake - and Wales have some time with the ball in their hands.

We knew Argentina were going to come out firing for the first 10 minutes of the half! It's about how we deal with it and how we cope with it.

Fair play to Argentina, they've come out firing putting pressure on Wales.

    Wales 10-9 Argentina

Wales really have barely touched the ball for the last ten minutes of the first half and now the start of the second.

They have to get out of this slump quickly.

That was a really clever kick by Santiago Carreras, something we didn't see in the first half from Argentina.

Again it's a really impressive showing from the Welsh defence almost on their own goal line.

    A strong counter-ruck but there's a penalty coming.

Wales score their best tries off the lineout and they've lost three lineouts in the first half, that's the biggest thing we have to mend.

Disappointing from Wales, from attacking on Argentina's five metre line to defending on our five within minutes, unbelievable really.

Wales have had the better of all phases of the game but haven't turned that pressure into points.

    Wales 10-6 Argentina

Well the first thing to report is that Wales have changed their shirts at half-time so actually have numbers on their backs.

Either that, or the kit man was very busy with the prit-stick!

The worst fear for a player is leaving a game of this magnitude early due to injury.

It is the same for a referee.

Stephen: Wales making a mountain out of a speed bump in this Argentina side. Semi finalists will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing either of these two sides.

Wales flanker Dan Lydiate on S4C: "The last 10 minutes we've strayed away from the plan, there's quite a few nerves out there.

"We need to get back to basics and show what we did for most of the first half and then we'll be alright.

"Last 10 minutes we gave them easy ins, a couple of penalties and the scoreline is closer than it needs to be.

"Tommy Reffell and Jac Morgan at six and seven, one's chopping down and one's over the ball winning penalties and giving the option to Dan Biggar to go for the posts or touch.

"There's been opportunities out wide, the Argentine defence has narrowed quite a bit and the outside backs are calling for the ball to the likes of Louis Rees-Zammit, the more we can do that the better for us."

I am slightly worried because those two penalties have put a little bit of pressure on us to come out in the second half and you know Argentina, in the second half in the first 10 minutes, they're going to come firing!

What a breathless first half. Numbers falling off shirts, the referee being replaced after suffering a calf injury and a melee at the end of the 40 minutes.

Wales appeared to be in control with a 10-0 lead and they spurned a couple of chances to extend that lead to allow the Pumas back into the game with two late penalties.

Wales will be concerned about the line-out and need to keep their discipline with wing Josh Adams somehow avoiding a yellow card for a late and needless shoulder charge.

What will the second half bring?!

    HT: Wales 10-6 Argentina

Wales had that game under control but a little bit of over-ambition, a wayward lineout and indiscipline turned the half into a scrappy contest and allowed Los Pumas to claw their way back into it.

Warren Gatland will be hammering the point for the need for control in the second half.

Andrew: Josh Adams is a very lucky boy. What’s the odds that he scores a second-half try now?
