  1. Glasgow inches short...published at 55 mins

    Bayonne 11-7 Glasgow Warriors

Poor restart from Bayonne, good from Glasgow though. They win a scrum and win a penalty advantage from it. It's into the corner from Ross Thompson.

The maul is going towards the sideline and eventually George Horne can get it away. Advantage coming again, as Horne urges calm. He tries to snipe, but he's held on the line.

They're centimetres away, but the ball is loose and they take the penalty.

  2. Penalty Bayonne 11-7 Glasgow Warriorspublished at 49 mins

    Camille Lopez

Glasgow are pinged around the 10m line, just in their half. The problem is they're up against Camille Lopez and he sniffs an opportunity.

It's an enormous boot from the veteran French 10 and he knocks it over the sticks.

There's a few Bayonne changes, including Australian utility back Reece Hodge. Not a bad sub to bring on.

It is a good start to the half, they look really threatening but those are opportunities you have got to take.

    Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriors

A huge break from Huw Jones gets Glasgow right up the pitch. Zander Fagerson has the ball in the 22m, but again Bayonne turnover deep in their own half.

Another foray into French territory comes to naught.

  5. Second-half kicks offpublished at 41 mins

    Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriors

We're back under way at the Stade Jean Dauger.

Glasgow are back to their full contingent and it looks like Tom Jordan is out on the wing.

I think Franco Smith will be disappointed with a lot of things, but will be happy they are still in the game.

  7. Half-time Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriorspublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2023

Somehow after all that, we've seen only 15 points scored. I don't know how, really. This has been a phenomenal game of rugby.

Breathless, frantic, but maybe a little too loose when it's mattered.

At one point, it looked like Bayonne might run away with the game but Glasgow pegged them back when Ally Miller decided to do his best Usain Bolt impression and left Nadir Megdoud in the dust on the wing.

I'm off for a quick lie down.

  8. Tom Jordan replaces Ollie Smithpublished at 40 mins

    Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriors

He's tried to run that off, but a shake of the head confirms Ollie Smith's race is run. That's the sensible thing. Tom Jordan is on... I wonder if that'll re-jig the backline.

The last thing Glasgow need right now is another injury.

You don't want to see that replay too many times. It just does not look nice at all.

  10. Ouch!published at 39 mins

    Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriors

Oooooh that looked nasty for Ollie Smith. He was haring up the pitch and went to step inside, but his knee completely buckled underneath him, dropping the ball before he was even in contact.

He's in serious discomfort. The poor fella. You hate to see that.

  11. converted try

Converted try Bayonne 8-7 Glasgow Warriorspublished at 38 mins

    Ally Miller

Glasgow fire a shot back from nothing - and oh my word - the wheels on Ally Miller!

The visitors spot a gap down the blind and Ross Thompson goes behind his forwards. He finds George Turner, who flicks quickly to Miller and the number eight pins his ears back and flies past the winger to run in untouched.

It's a super kick from Thompson and the Warriors are a point behind!

  12. try

Try Bayonne 8-0 Glasgow Warriorspublished at 34 mins

    Facundo Bosch

Gela Aprasidze scampers through, but he is tackled before he gets back to his feet and leaps over the line. The good news for Bayonne is that they had a penalty advantage anyway, with Huw Jones pinged this time.

Sione Tuipulotu receives another warning. Glasgow will be in trouble if they keep this up. Bayonne go for the corner.

It comes back to Facundo Bosch and it doesn't look like the maul is going anywhere, but the stadium is going wild and eventually the Glasgow maul buckles, allowing the Argentine over.

Camille Lopez misses the kick. You don't say that often.

  13. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Bayonne 3-0 Glasgow Warriors

Jamie Bhatti concedes the penalty in the red zone and it's another opportunity for Bayonne. The pace and intensity of this game is absolutely insane.

It's so loose at the moment - and it's suiting the hosts. They go for the corner.

  14. Penalty - Bayonne 3-0 Glasgow Warriorspublished at 29 mins

    Camille Lopez

He's not going for the corner this time - and the forwards will probably thank him. They've just chased a wee winger up the pitch.

Camille Lopez slots the kick and we finally have a score.

  15. Sin-bin - Zander Fagerson (Glasgow Warriors)published at 27 mins

I cannot keep up with this game. Ross Thompson somehow keeps a kick in and Tom Spring slaps it back to keep it in and then passes to Nadir Megdoud.

The winger produces three audacious steps and gets Bayonne all the way up to just outside Glasgow's 22m before Fagerson is pinged for hands in the ruck. Off he goes!

  16. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Bayonne 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Another mistake from the rolling maul! That's three opportunities that Glasgow have passed up. Franco Smith will be absolutely seething.

Kyle Rowe somehow keeps the ball when Bayonne clear, but it's then turned over again by Bayonne in the Glasgow 22m.

This game is end-to-end, but no one wants to score!

  17. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Bayonne 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

That is absolutely sensational from Glasgow. They win a penalty deep in their own territory and French back-chat means they march up the field.

Sione Tuipulotu stabs a kick through and the kick-chase from the Warriors is ferocious. They're swarming the Bayonne attackers, they smell blood in the water and they eventually win the turnover.

Now they kick to the corner.

It is going to be tough. Glasgow are going to have to do something special to take this Bayonne defence down.

    Bayonne 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow manage to work their way into the Bayonne 22m, but Junior Tagi makes a huge turnover when Zander Fagerson is crunched in contract. That's superb from the big Fijian.

The law says when you have been tackled you are allowed to place it in any direction, but you can't roll or move it, you can only place it. For me, he has moved.
