  1. That's a wrap

    FT: Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

That is all from us as Ulster pick up a much needed win following a fine performance against Racing 92 at the Kingspan Stadium in the European Champions Cup.

Four tries helped to secure a bonus-point victory, which sets Ulster up well for their United Rugby Championship clash against Connacht.

You can read the report from the game here.

Elsewhere this evening, Bath beat Cardiff Rugby 39-32 in a 10-try thriller at the Arms Park.

    Thanks for joining us, goodnight.

  2. 'Vintage Ulster'

    FT: Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

    Tony McWhirter

1999 Ulster European Cup winner on BBC Radio Ulster

That was vintage Ravenhill and vintage Ulster. The last three weeks have been a dark place, but if you needed something to kick-start a season that was it.

We saw two big responses from Cooney and McCloskey, their performances epitomised everything, they drove this team this evening.

  3. 'We're not too far away' - McCloskey

    FT: Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

Ulster's man-of-the-match Stuart McCloskey Speaking to TNT Sports post-match:

"I think we had to work on cutting down the handling errors from last week and i think we did that.

"We don't think we are too far away.

"The crowd was good as ever, especially in that second half when we really needed it.

"We needed a win for confidence. We will look at the interpros first and then deal with Europe after christmas."

  4. 'Special night for Ulster'

    FT: Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

    Chris Henry

Former Ireland flanker on BBC Radio Ulster

A really special, special night here. The pressure that was on the players and coaching staff, they really did fight for everything and showed that physicality. They had a bit of luck in the first half but they were the better team on the night and really stood up.

What a springboard for Ulster now to push on.

  5. Full-time

    FT: Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

They may be top of the table in France but tonight Racing are second best in Belfast.

It's a win to lift a province at the Kingspan. Bonus-point secured for Ulster on another memorable European night.

Two tries from Nick Timoney, and one apiece from Stuart McCloskey and Matty Rea earned the win for the Irish province and reignites their season.

For Racing they had no answer for Ulster's resolute defence despite an outstanding performance from scrum-half Nolann Le Garrec.

Ulster are back in the European race!

  6. Post update

    Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

Kitshoff, Hume and Cooney leave the field. Huge applause around the ground for their efforts, and rightly so.

  7. Post update

    Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

Scintillating stuff from Mike Lowry. We havent seen that pace in a while.

He takes the ball outside his own 22 and sets off like the proverbial greyhound, beating defender-after-defender. Eventually he's hauled down on the edge of the Racing 92 22 line.

    More of that please.

  8. Stand-up

    Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

"Stand-up for the Ulstermen" resonates around the Kingspan Stadium in a way it hasn't all season. Could this be another one of those special nights under the lights?

  9. Post update

    Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

Racing carrying hard but are being smashed at every corner. Replacement flanker Harry Sheridan thumping all-comers back, and they force a knock-on.

Ulster must believe they can hold on.

  10. Penalty

    Ulster 31-15 Racing 92

Racing are pinged on their own 22 for playing the scrum-half, after a smart break down the wing by replacement Jake Flannery.

Iain Henderson points at the post and John Cooney makes no mistake to push Ulster beyond two tries.

  11. Try Ulster 28-15 Racing 92

    Janick Tarrit (66 mins)

Ulster can't stop the Parisians at the second attempt.

Another huge scrum-maul, shoves the away team over the line and it's Tarrit who dots down at the back.

Le Garrec can't take the extras.

  12. Take a Bow

    Ulster 28-10 Racing 92

Racing turning the screw now, and after a dominant maul close to the Ulster line, it looks a certain try out left for the visitors but somehow Rob Baloucoune gets his body under the ball.

But its not over as its another penalty.

  13. Post update

    Ulster 28-10 Racing 92

Try-saving tackle from Rob Baloucoune on the replacement scrum-half to save a certain try after that man Le Garecc makes the break.

Just then Jacob Stockdale with an interception under his own posts and pins his ears back, but amazingly it's Le Garrec again who catches him on halfway.

Surely this is the new French scrum-half, with Antoine Du Pont stepping aside for next year's Six Nations.

  14. 'Cooney having a big influence on the game'

    Ulster 28-10 Racing 92

    Chris Henry

Former Ireland flanker on BBC Radio Ulster

Cooney has had a big influence on the game, he is fighting for everything.

Everything he is doing and everything around him is positive.

    John Cooney
  15. Try - Ulster 28-10 Racing 92

    Janick Tarrit (55 mins)

The pressure finally breaks the Ulster resolve.

Tarrit gets his hands on the ball at the back of a ruck three-metres out and falls over the line to score.

Antoine Gibert misses with the conversion.

  16. Post update

    Ulster 28-5 Racing 92

Now it's Racing who pound time-and-time again at the Ulster line. Some stoic Ulster defence though holds the ball up over the line. Excellent defence.

We go back for a penalty though, kicked to the corner.

  17. Replacement

    Ulster 28-5 Racing 92

    Jake Flannery replaces Billy Burns.

  18. 'Hard work pays off for Ulster'

    Ulster 26-5 Racing 92

    Chris Henry

Former Ireland flanker on BBC Radio Ulster

Fantastic, that is the big gambles you have to take and it just shows the mindset the leaders in that team have.

Ulster know Racing can turn it on, but to get that fourth try is unbelievable. The crowd are up and it is amazing to see the hard work pay off for Ulster.

    Nick Timoney try
  19. Try - Ulster 28-5 Racing 92

    Nick Timoney (48 mins)

It's another tap-and-go try for the home side.

Again it's Nick Timoney who rises last to take the plaudits. Racing have no response to this "old-school" tactic.

Cooney takes the extras. Bonus-point for Ulster!

    Nick Timoney try
  20. Post update

    Ulster 21-5 Racing 92

Ulster hammering at the Racing door five metres out. Racing get pinged for a high tackle.
