I think Ireland need to take their opportunities when they come, settle down in attack and keep playing.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 31 March

    Ireland 7-15 Italy

Ireland go in at the break behind. They failed to take full advantage of a dominant start in an error-strewn 40 minutes.

They gave Italy a way back into the game and the Azzurri have taken their chances when they have come.

It will be interesting to see what, if any, changes Scott Bemand's half-time team talk will have.

  4. Penalty Ireland 7-15 Italypublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 31 March

    Beatrice Rigoni (36 mins)

A long kick behind puts Ireland full back Lauren Delaney under pressure as she tries to run it back from her own line.

The Sale Sharks player gets caught and is penalised for holding on. She has been stretchered off with what looks like a neck injury so we wish her well and hope it is merely precautionary. She gives a wave on the way off so that is a positive sign.

Rigoni knocks the three-pointer over to open Italy's advantage to eight points as we approach the break.

    Valeria Fedrighi (33 mins)

Ireland are punished as Italy go the full length of the field via an Irish knock on and penalty.

After a powerful run from Sara Tounesi, second row Valeria Fedrighi touches down under the posts from close range. Rigoni adds the extras this time and Ireland find themselves behind.

  7. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 31 March

    Ireland 7-5 Italy

Ireland are awarded a penalty on the Italian 22' after a high tackle from Emma Stevanin on Sam Monaghan.

Despite being straight in front, Ireland go to the corner but the swirling wind keeps Dannah O'Brien's kick in play and an Irish penalty gives Italy the opportunity to clear.

Just under 10 minutes until the break.

  8. 'Clever move from Italy'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 31 March

    Ireland 7-5 Italy

    Ciara Griffin
Former Ireland captain on BBC iPlayer

Well-worked Italian move there, really strong front wall with the Italian maul driving the Irish defence back, clever move.

  9. try

Try Ireland 7-5 Italypublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 31 March

    Vittoria Vecchini (25 mins)

Two penalties from Italy put them on the Irish five metre line and they maul their way over the line. Hooker Vittoria Vecchini is at the back to dot down.

Beatrice Rigoni's touchline conversion bounces off the bar so Ireland still lead but the Azzurri are right back in this game.

    Ireland 7-0 Italy

Aoife Wafer has been making a lot of hefty carries early in this one and her latest break gives Ireland good field position in the 22'.

However, another handling error gives Italy a chance to clear.

  11. Postpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 31 March

    Ireland 7-0 Italy

We are back underway after a stoppage in play for a bit of treatment for Ireland prop Christy Haney while her opposite number Silvia Turani is off for an HIA after feeling the force of that earlier Parsons break.

    Ireland 7-0 Italy

    Fiona Coghlan
Former Ireland prop on RTE Sport

The way Italy are defending at the minute, it is giving Ireland opportunities to attack. It has been all Ireland and they look in control of what they want to do, it is important they don't lose focus.

A cross-field kick from the returning Enya Breen is well mopped up by Italy full back Vittoria Ostuni Minuzzi. From the scrum, a penalty is awarded and a scrum is called for again on the five metre line.

  17. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 31 March

    Ireland 0-0 Italy

Ireland have been on the attack early but Italy win a penalty on their own line. However, that only staves off the pressure for a moment as the kick fails to make touch and Ireland are on the front foot again.
