That was all too easy for Leinster. Tigers need to be careful and get control of the game. They can't let Leinster score at will like that.

It all came from Handre Pollard's missed kick to touch. That kick led to a yellow card for Tom Whiteley and then the try.

Leicester need someone to spark them into life.

I told you that job had just got tougher for Tigers.

It's one off the training paddock for Leinster as Dan Sheehan throws in at the line-out before gathering the ball at the back of the rolling maul.

The hooker spots an opening in the Leicester defence and peels off to charge over.

    Harry Byrne adds the conversion.

If it stays as it is at full-time, Leicester will claim a losing bonus and move to 10 points overall.

That will be enough to reach the round of 16 as the two sides who could still chase them play each other on Sunday.

  8. Tigers against the salary cappublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

Tigers trail at the break but what's going on at the club off the field..?

Leicester remain against the Premiership's salary cap increase but will spend to the limit as they cut costs elsewhere at the club, says chief executive Andrea Pinchin.

The salary cap is set to increase from £5m to £6.4m next season.

Tigers, who have made off-field redundancies as part of a restructure, reported a £1.5m pre-tax loss for the 12 months up to June 2023.

"Everything we do is about putting money into the rugby," said Pinchen.

It was important that Leicester kept Leinster out just before half-time. Trailing a team like Leinster by five instead of 12 is a big difference given what a top-class team they are.

Leicester are still very much in it.

James Lowe turned something into nothing, he had the strength in the tackle and then the ability to get the ball away.

Gibson-Park didn't quite have the legs but they went through the phases. That's what Leinster can do, they can just turn it on and a few phases later they score.

    Joe McCarthy (con Harry Byrne)

Leinster are over, but is it a double movement by Joe McCarthy?

It looks like the lock is held in the initial tackle but he manages to buy another couple of metres and get over at the second time of asking.

Harry Byrne adds the conversion and we are all square.
