Scarlets are doing a number on Edinburgh at the moment, they've done their homework.

You could criticise them for lacking physicality in the last few months. Not tonight.

They're doing the simple things well, and their discipline has been really good, which has been an achilles heel of theirs.

Injured Edinburgh lock Glen Young tells Premier Sports: Sean [Everitt] will be disappointed, we need to be more clinical. You can have all the territory and possession in the world but Scarlets have been more clinical.

We need to tighten up a few things - our line outs, our ball out to the backs. We've had good opportunities, we can maybe sting them out wide.

  6. Half-time Edinburgh 7-15 Scarletspublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 20 April 2024

Aaand the throw comes to nothing. That little phase epitomised the first half.

Edinburgh have the territory, have the possession, and cough up the ball when it mattered mosts.

Dwayne Peel will be delighted - the Scarlets are on course for a first win outside of Wales since January 2023.

    Big second half to come.

Scarlets go off their feet right before half-time as Duhan van der Merwe wrangles Sam Costelow after a Wes Goosen chip.

Penalty for the hosts, and they go for the corner again. They've not had much success down here this evening.

Ali Price has been a fantastic player for club and country over the years, but his box-kicking is a problem that rears its head from time to time.

I'm not sure whether that one was rushed and his guards were not set or it was just a poorly executed kick, but it's an absolute gift to the Scarlets.

    Edinburgh 7-15 Scarlets

Vaea Fifita nearly picks off a Ben Healy pass to race through from 70 yards out - but he spills it! He hared away and then left the ball 40 yards down the pitch.

Boos ring around the crowd, and he apologetically retrieves the ball. A bit of fun.

It's another Edinburgh error and another Scarlets score!

Ali Price's box-kick is charged down by Sam Lousi and hacked towards the Edinburgh line. It sits up perfectly for Davies and he scurries in, barely believing his luck.

Sam Costelow misses this time, but it's an eight-point lead now.

    Edinburgh 7-10 Scarlets

Vaea Fifits picks up from the back and runs over the top of Mark Bennett, but he's somehow brought down.

Scarlets have it five metres out, but they go for the posts instead of trying to go wide. Edinburgh steal it again! It's Ben Healy this time.

Edinburgh have been accused more than once this season of being one-dimensional, but Wes Goosen offers something a little bit out the ordinary.

He's looked threatening every time he's got his hands on ball so far and that was a lovely wee show-and-go for the try.

Edinburgh would do well to get their fullback on the ball as much as they can when he's in this mood.

Jamie Ritchie pilfers the ball from the Scarlets attack in the Edinburgh 22m. He pops it to Javan Sebastian but the ball dies on him, and the tighthead spills.

First scrum of the game after 23 minutes.

  15. Penalty Edinburgh 7-10 SCARLETSpublished at 22 mins

Scarlets have been under pressure since they scored, but they have a chance for points as Mark Bennett concedes a penalty at the breakdown.

    Wes Goosen

He's been scintillating in the last five minutes, and now he has his try!

Scarlets look disorganised in defence and finally Edinburgh make the final pass, as James Lang finds Goosen peeling behind the attacking line.

It's one simple dummy that puts Goosen through the gap and he jogs over the line. Healy adds the extras, and we're all even.

    Edinburgh 0-7 Scarlets

Wes Goosen swats away a Scarlet defender and breaks free. His inside ball to Matt Currie is superb but the deputising winger is brought down just short.

Edinburgh spread it left, then right, but on both occasions they can't find the pivotal final past. Edinburgh's attack in a microcosm.

  18. Edinburgh set-piece strugglespublished at 12 mins

    Edinburgh 0-7 Scarlets

Another throw for Edinburgh just five metres out. They try a move and Jamie Ritchie has tries to feed Dave Cherry... but passes straight out of play.

Maybe not. It's another Edinburgh throw... but it's stolen again. This is an issue for the hosts. Four line-outs nicked already.

    Edinburgh 0-7 Scarlets

After Edinburgh's line-out was praised in comms, they've lost their next two. Dave Cherry needs to get a handle on that.

    Tom Rogers

Edinburgh are compounding their errors with more mistakes. A stray line-out lets the Scarlets into the home 22m and they burrow their way deep.

It's organised chaos and eventually Vaea Fifita launches a one-handed pass to Rogers, who slides over in the corner.

A disastrous start from Edinburgh, as Sam Costelow converts.
