  1. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 65 mins

    Aberdeen 0-3 Celtic

Anthony O'Connor was the guilty party that conceded the penalty and Derek McInnes has seen enough for one day from the defender, who has been party of a pretty woeful collective defensive display. O'Connor makes way for Jayden Stockley.

Brendan Rodgers makes a change too, introducing Nir Bitton for Patrick Roberts.

  2. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 0-3 Celticpublished at 64 mins

    Moussa Dembele (pen)

Moussa Dembele steps up and calmly slots the penalty home, sending Joe Lewis the wrong way.

The League Cup trophy will surely be making the short trip across Glasgow to rest at Celtic Park.

  3. PENALTY CELTICpublished at 63 mins

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Anthony O'Connor brings down James Forrest in the box and referee John Beaton points to the spot.

It's not over yet. Aberdeen have got a bit of fire in their belly.

  5. Sloppy set-piecepublished at 57 mins

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Aberdeen have forced three or four corners since the break as they've taken the game to Celtic but their delivery from the set-piece is letting them down. All too easy for the Celtic defence to clear the danger.

  6. Aberdeen 0-2 Celticpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

Aberdeen have certainly stepped it up in this second half. Johnny Hayes whips a vicious ball into the penalty area and Kenny McLean meets it with a header which deflects off Emilio Izaguirre and behind for a corner.

  7. Aberdeen 0-2 Celticpublished at 51 mins

Kenny McLean flights a free-kick into the Celtic box, Andrew Considine knocks it down but Adam Rooney just can't get the crucial touch.

Moments later Rooney does well to get to the byline and put a dangerous ball across the face of goal but there are no Aberdeen takers.

A little more promising from the Dons.

  8. Aberdeen 0-2 Celticpublished at 48 mins

Celtic hit Aberdeen on the break as Tom Rogic strides forward. He feeds Patrick Roberts who looks for Dembele but between them they try and play too many passes, the space is closed down and eventually the French striker sends a weak header into the arms of Joe Lewis.

  10. Fabulous Forrestpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

    HT: Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

James Forrest is a player reborn under Brendan Rodgers this season. That was his sixth goal of the season, and it has put Celtic on course to claim the first silverware of the campaign.

  11. 'Aberdeen have been spectators'published at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

Aberdeen's defence have taken no responsibility, especially the central defenders. Send them home just now.

They have been spectators. At the moment that is a damaging performance for Derek McInnes and Aberdeen Football Club.

Are Celtic doing anything revolutionary that we haven't seen before? No.

  12. Gullible Donspublished at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

    HT: Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

    Tom English
    BBC Sport Scotland at Hampden

Aberdeen so gullible for the second. So much space for Celtic. What did the Dons think would happen? James Forrest very clinical. Great finish.

Celtic have been very, very good. Really hungry. Aberdeen had one chance at 1-0 and they absolutely needed to take it.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Celtic two goals up at the break and that is a decent reflection of their first half superiority.

Aberdeen, as our commentator Liam McLeod suggests, have simply failed to turn up in this final. Before the match many felt Aberdeen were the best equipped of any team in Scotland to end Celtic's unbeaten run this season. However, they have been way off the pace from the start.

Celtic have dominated the middle of the park, dominated possession, with Scott Brown and Tom Rogic running the show.

They haven't actually created that many clear-cut chances, but the openings they have fashioned have been converted in stunning style. Rogic's opener and James Forrest's goal were fit to grace any final and have put the Scottish champions in firm control here.

Huge mountain to climb for Aberdeen, but at least they still have 45 minutes to do it. If they can get the first goal after the break then they can start to think of a famous comeback. If Celtic get a third then it will be game over.

  14. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

For such an open match there has been remarkably few clear-cut chances. Where Celtic have shown their class is their ability to take their chances when they present themselves.

Two classy goals and Celtic look well on-course to clinch the 100th major trophy in the club's history.

  15. Dons 'must be brave'published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2016

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

This man knows how it feels to lift the League Cup in the scarlet of Aberdeen - can his former team pull this one from the fire?

  16. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 0-2 Celticpublished at 37 mins

    James Forrest

Is that it done and dusted?

James Forrest picks up the ball just inside the Aberdeen half and drives at the defence. The Dons defenders are back-peddling and seemingly afraid to put in a tackle. When they eventually do it's too late as Forrest has powered into the box and picked his spot with a wonderful finish beyond Joe Lewis.

Long way back for Aberdeen now, and they have provided little evidence so far today that they are capable of recovering from this position.

Scott Brown has been absolutely outstanding in the first 25 minutes. Getting through so much work.

Aberdeen need to get Jonny Hayes running hard at the Celtic defence if they're going to get back into this.

James Maddison is trying to make things happen but if there's a second goal coming you'd fancy that it's going to go Celtic's way

"This is a tough, tough game for Aberdeen right now. A second Celtic goal would make this Mount Everest for the Dons."
