Defender Clint Hill brings down James Forrest 23 yards from the Rangers goal. Stuart Armstrong takes the free-kick which is turned on to the post for a corner by Wes Foderingham. That was Celtic's best chance so far. Meanwhile, off the ball, Scott Brown gets involved with Jason Holt - Brown is lucky not to be booked for that.

Kenny Miller knocks the ball through for Martyn Waghorn, who splits the Celtic central defence and is one on one with Craig Gordon. The Englishman lashes a left-foot shot from 18 yards which Gordon saves with his left leg. Fine save, that, but Waghorn will be kicking himself. He may not get a better chance all match.

Rangers' new manager Pedro Caixinha, taking in the match from the stand before he begins work on Monday, is flanked by his agent Pedro Mendes, the former Rangers midfielder.

Moussa Dembele comes in to the match at last but his shot to the Rangers near post doesn't really threaten to break the deadlock. The young Frenchman looks very powerful and composed in possession.

Martyn Waghorn is shown a yellow card for a painful tackle on Nir Bitton - a hefty crack on the shin.

Martyn Waghorn drifts offside and a good clipped ball down the left flank by Clint Hill is wasted. Meanwhile, Mikael Lustig, in an advanced position on the right wing, goes down under a "crisp" tackle. Play rages to the other end where Barrie McKay's ball in from the left is smashed over the bar by an off-balance Martyn Waghorn. And back towards the Rangers goal it goes, and Scott Sinclair's run in to the box is guided out by that man Hill again for a Rangers goal kick.

When Rangers next attack, Martyn Waghorn wins a free-kick after being fouled by Erik Sviatchenko. Celtic striker Moussa Dembele doesn't manage to clear effectively and Rangers win a corner. Good pressure from the visitors.

Martyn Waghorn looks to be the main striker for Rangers, supported by Kenny Miller, who knows a thing or two about scoring against Celtic. That pair will have, they hope, winger Barrie McKay supplying the incisive passes.

Stuart Armstrong wins a free-kick for Celtic as he is upended by an enthusiastic Martyn Waghorn. Rangers are holding their defensive line well in the opening minutes but cannot keep hold of the ball. That's three times they have ceded possession almost immediately.
