Can Ronnie O'Sullivan go one better?

He's in among the reds now having downed a long red. Both pink and black are out of commission though.

  3. Barry Hawkins 1-7 Ronnie O'Sullivanpublished at 19:16

Oh dear. Hawkins took his eye off the yellow and he missed it into the green pocket.

It's a scrappy opening to this session.

O'Sullivan fouls the pink, Hawkins goes in off.

"Where's the cueball going?" says John Virgo.

    Snookered

Another loose one from Ronnie O'Sullivan, catching the blue on the way up. He hasn't woken up yet.

Just the one from Barry Hawkins, but what a brilliant safety, tucking in behind the yellow in baulk and Ronnie is in trouble here.

  6. Barry Hawkins 1-7 Ronnie O'Sullivanpublished at 19:12

"Foul and a miss, Barry Hawkins four."

Ronnie O'Sullivan fails to make contact with any red. He's successful on the second attempt though.

Remember, if you're not snookered and fail to hit a red on the table three times, you forfeit the frame. Shaun Murphy knows all about that having done it against Mark Allen in the first round.

    Barry Hawkins

Lots of encouragement for Barry Hawkins as a loose Ronnie O'Sullivan safety allows him to pot a red into the top right pocket.

With the element of safety in mind, he can't get on a colour.

    Steve Davis

"The walk from the dressing room to the table is a surreal affair. You have done it before, but this is a final.

"If you are in front, you are worried of a comeback, if you are behind, you just need to get the first frame on the board. Whichever way it is, you'll be nervous."

"Those unlucky enough not to get tickets - or those who prefer their snooker with a drink - are crowding around a TV in the 'fan zone' at Alexandra Palace. Many of the fans that I spoke to this morning were predicting Ronnie to triumph here today - it looks like they might be right."

Fuelled up, refreshed and ready to go again? We could be in for a quick finish here.

After a dominant first session, Ronnie O'Sullivan leads Barry Hawkins 7-1 in the final of the Masters.

He needs just three more for victory and could wrap it up before the mid-session interval.

Hawkins needs to come out and just attack everything, hoping he can find his form from the semi-final. Can he turn it around? It's a big ask.

    Higgins and Davis

Two megastars, one sport, and a fight for victory.

Snooker's golden period was during the 1980s when Steve Davis was winning World Championships galore and Alex Higgins was providing entertainment.

Steve ‘The Nugget’ Davis - clinical, ruthless, ‘boring’ and Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins - mercurial, explosive, a natural showman.

The BBC's comedy drama transports you back to the glory days of snooker.
