Damien Hirst, artist and Ronnie O'Sullivan's friend: "What goes on in O'Sullivan's head is not what has gone on out there. It makes me laugh, we see him play really well but he doesn't think so. I have been here watching him so many times, I try to give him constructive feedback but I don't know why I bother."

  3. O'Sullivan on being favouritepublished at 14:33

"I don't get phased by me being the favourite. I'm not going to discount myself because I know I'm going to find a a gear. It's just about starting to know your own body. At the moment I feel unco-ordinated and feel off-balance."

  4. O'Sullivan on Hawkinspublished at 14:31

"Barry's probably been the best player of the tournament, along with Judd Trump. He's a great cueist, has a great temperament and break builder.

"Maybe the last couple of years I've taken my eye off the ball and my game isn't as strong as it was."

Ronnie O'Sullivan spoke to Steve Davis for the BBC after his semi-final win on Saturday night.

He said: "I was struggling. At the moment, I'm having to fight it out there. I have to try to forget about all that stuff and go with what I've got and try to produce some decent snooker."

"Hawkins will have to win tournaments like these to be reconsidered as a top, top player. He is not gong to be clased among the favourites until he wins a big one like Neil Robertson, Mark Selby and Ronnie O'Sullivan have."

"It was a fantastic break upto the yellow, he played two fantastic reds. Hawkins has to get that yellow, shots like that is what wins you titles."

    Ronnie O'Sullivan wins the frame

Ahh, shame. The long yellow is missed by Hawkins and to make matters worse, it's a double kiss. O'Sullivan has a straightforward clearance to pink to lead 3-1.

  12. Barry Hawkins 1-2 Ronnie O'Sullivanpublished at 14:16

Hawkins downs a lovely red along the cushion and he now has to do the same with the next one.

Brilliant pot and all the reds are clear. Just the colours remaining.

Oh yes Bazza. A brilliant red smashed into the yellow pocket and he can now get to work.

"It's a chance Barry didn't think we would get," says Dennis Taylor on commentary.

    Too right.

Oh dear. Nerves, tension whatever you want to call it creeping in for Hawkins, missing a black off the spot. That's poor and O'Sullivan has an open table. Can't leave The Rocket chances like these, it's asking for trouble.

You wouldn't leave your front door unlocked before going to bed at night, would you?

    Exactly.

  16. Barry Hawkins 1-2 Ronnie O'Sullivanpublished at 14:07

A poor safety from Hawkins in the frame before the mid-session interval allows O'Sullivan to take a long red. He can't follow it up with the pink though and Hawkins has his hand on the table.

    Ken Doherty

"Hawkins will expect O'Sullivan to produce some magic but he is still only one frame behind. He has to stick with him all the way through and not let him build a lead."

That's more like it. In a flash, O'Sullivan does the damage with the first century of the final. That was The Rocket at his finest, pocketing ball after ball without needing to take a moment to think.

A total clearance of 136 and the crowd go wild.
