    Or maybe not!

Ding is 43 ahead, but misses what looks a routine red and Selby has a chance he was not expecting.

Well, this is a chance for a confidence-building first frame on the board. Selby missed a long red with the cue ball well placed in among the reds.

Ding looks to have got himself in trouble as the cue ball is left on the side cushion when attempting a yellow, but he sinks that and this could be 2-1 shortly.

The view from the studio was that Ding Junhui's coach, 1979 world champion Terry Griffiths, would have to get Ding to think positive again.

Maybe show him this clip from the semi-finals, where the man from China hit a record number of centuries in a match.

"There has never been a question mark about Ding's ability, but there have been questions about his temperament. As he left the arena after the second frame, he punched the table in frustration.

"Losing that will be a big blow so early on and once his right eye starts twitching frantically, you know the man from China is in trouble."

"Some of Ding Junhui's shots will be concerning to his fans. He's trying to force the issue. You're not going to get many chances against Mark Selby. He didn't play position on the yellow when he needed to in that last frame and it cost him.

"This will be a major test of his attitude because Selby is the type of player who strangles you and makes sure there are no chances for you to get back into the match. He's a human boa constrictor. He squeezes the life out of you."

Mark Selby is becoming the ultimate long-session match player, it is going to be such a big test for Ding Junhui. It's just so tough to play against Selby.

Trevor Carey:, external Only 2 frames in, but a terrible one for Ding to gift to Selby when Selby needed a snooker.

JavelBleach:, external Well, Ding let that one slip. Could've finished it several times, but Selby just needed a glimpse & he's 2-up!

Arabelle:, external Incredible game building at the Crucible. My favourite kind of snooker. Every shot on a needle point.

What a steal from Selby. He needed a snooker with only the colours remaining, he got it and pinches it by two points on the black. A bad start for Ding.

"To do one final is great but to do two is amazing," said Collier earlier today.

A mobile phone went off in the crowd earlier, and it's prompted quite the reaction on Twitter from you...

Nathan Hodkin: This phone business is getting ridiculous. There shouldn't even be warnings anymore. Your phone goes off, you're out.

Tom Beasley: I feel like referees have had to tell people off about phones far too much this year. Is it that hard to keep them on silent?

Dave Jones: People who don’t turn their phones off, or cough more than three times in five minutes should be kicked out.

Vicki: Again!!! Ignorant people with their mobile phones!!! TURN THEM OFF!!!

Affect the world's economy? I'm not too sure about that. But with a huge television audience in China and the fact this match will be played through the night (Chinese time) then there are going to be an awful lot of tired people on Monday and Tuesday morning in Beijing.

Their man leads 68-39 with only the colours remaining, and Selby needing one snooker in the second frame.

Needless to say, he then missed this red into the middle pocket. Sorry.

This is very much advantage Mark Selby even though it is so early on. Ding needs to get a few points on the board and settle. He needs to get a clear head.

Selby makes 24 off his chance in the break and then has an attempt at a long red. What follows is the balls bouncing around the table, a similar scenario to after most of the shots I have ever played.

Selby gets lucky with Ding having no pot on and we are moving into safety battle territory.

Neil Robertson said Ding had to take his first chances in frames. Well, he doesn't in frame two. He comes to the table handed a golden opportunity, which he can't take as he only makes 16 before running out of position.

"He just hasn't settled," says six-time world champion Steve Davis.

    Chance for Selby.

There's no denying that both of these men have been dragged through the mill to reach this stage. Mark Selby's semi-final against Marco Fu saw two frames take over an hour to complete, but Ding Junhui had to beat Greg Casey, Ross Muir, and Nigel Bond in qualifying just to get to the Crucible.

He had fallen to 17th in the world rankings just before the cut-off point, but this run to the final will take him well inside the top 10.
