I'm just wondering if this is the beginning of the end for Shaun Murphy.

Ronnie has gone up two or three gears. Shaun has slightly dipped, but we're being ultra critical. It's just the level of the opponent he's playing against. You just cannot make a mistake.

Is there any life left in this match? The way Shaun Murphy belts down the first ball of the 14th frame suggests so.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 8-5 Shaun Murphy

Phil Verney: You get the sense that Ronnie is putting the afterburners on now.

John Stokes: Ronnie pulling away now. Going to take some stopping, Murphy cannot afford anymore errors.

  4. O'Sullivan two away from the titlepublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2017

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 8-5 Shaun Murphy (103-18, O'Sullivan break of 103)

For the first time today, one of the players has a three-frame advantage, and that player, of course, is Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Those two errors from Murphy come back to bite him and O'Sullivan, ruthlessly, knocks in a break of 103, including a delicious plant to send a red into the middle pocket, to win the frame.

That's his 10th century of the tournament and his third of the day.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Worrying times for Shaun Murphy. If Ronnie wins this frame, it will be the biggest lead either player has held in the match so far.

It is never easy to chase against any player, but when you're trying to chase down Ronnie O'Sullivan in a major final, you can't afford to miss.

Shaun doesn't need me to tell him that he cannot afford to be throwing up these chances.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

O'Sullivan has not missed many today but a red, near the pocket, stays on the baize and Murphy has a chance, which he immediately wastes by leaving the red over the pocket.

    Oh dear.

O'Sullivan 0-18 behind, he should be a lot more adrift in this one.

  9. 'Lapse in concentration'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2017

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

    Dennis Taylor

That was a little lapse of concentration from Shaun Murphy.

He needed a full-ball contact and he'd have been guaranteed to be on a couple of reds, but he just slid off the pink. Disappointing, from Shaun's point of view.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

The Murphy break comes to a stuttering halt after only scoring 18. He potted the black off the spot, but he is not on a red and safety is his only option.

Shaun Murphy gets the first points after the restart, he needs to win five out of a maximum of seven frames left.

Earlier on today, we had the draw for the first round of the Masters...

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been drawn to face Marco Fu in the first round of the 2018 Masters in January.

O'Sullivan won a record seventh Masters title earlier this year with a 10-7 victory over Joe Perry in the final at London's Alexandra Palace.

World number one Mark Selby takes on Mark Williams, John Higgins plays fellow Scot Anthony McGill and Judd Trump meets Liang Wenbo.

The tournament starts on 14 January and will be shown live on BBC TV.

"There are some good ties and I am looking forward to seeing the likes of Luca Brecel, Kyren Wilson and Anthony McGill playing in the Masters for the first time," said six-time world champion Steve Davis.

  17. 'Ronnie is there to win'published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2017

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

I think one of the big bonuses in Ronnie’s life is that he does a lot away from the table. In my life, it was just snooker. But watching Ronnie play, there's no way he doesn't care. He's there to win.

  18. 'An inevitability about this break'published at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2017

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

Ronnie was desperate for a two-frame lead going into the interval, and ever since Shaun made that mistake, there was an inevitability about this break. Ronnie is hitting the ball like a dream now.

  19. O'Sullivan three from the titlepublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2017

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 7-5 Shaun Murphy (84-0, O'Sullivan break of 76)

Worrying times for Shaun Murphy now. His mistake to leave on a red after an earlier foul, brings O'Sullivan to the table and he does the rest with a break of 76, just minutes after a break of 104 in frame 11.

Murphy needs to get back in this one quickly before the match disappears into the distance.
