World number three Neil Robertson has been on top form on his route to the final.

He took apart three-time world champion Mark Selby in the quarter-finals and gave a masterclass in break building during another 6-2 victory over China's Zhou Yuelong in the last four.

The 38-year-old won the second of his UK Championship titles back in 2015 and is yet to go behind in this match.

    Could it be his year?

If you didn't join us earlier it was basically a bit of a slow burn that started to simmer and then boiled up nicely.

Neil Robertson led four times and hit breaks of 68, 103 and 110.

Judd Trump saved his best until last, levelling up at 4-4 with a superb break of 128.

You can read all about it here but let's put it this way I'm not expecting too many lengthy frames this evening though I'm definitely not ruling out a 10-9.

This could well be a classic.

It was a great response. Both these players are both mentally strong. It's all to play for tonight it is a mouth-watering prospect.

When you are playing a top player you expect them to make those sorts of breaks and you enjoy the challenge. You are alert and enjoy the thrill of it.

What's Judd Trump eyeing up here? Is that a plant into the bottom left corner? Possibly but there's no way of getting safe from this.

All or nothing type of shot. And it's all as he drops in his red, scatters the bunch and lands perfect on the blue.

Looks like the record of most centuries in a single UK Championship is inevitably about to go.

Robertson has eased into the match and looks more assured round the table, a big frame coming up for Judd Trump.

The intensity will raise again tonight but if someone has a lead it will help.

Every time you think Neil Robertson is slightly awry he plays a brilliant recovery shot to maintain his break.

That was another on the blue to leave him with a red into the right middle.

He's got 40 points on the board and is grafting towards restoring his lead.
