Barry Davies has arrived at Birmingham's Genting Arena.

The legendary commentator, who was the voice of sport during more than 50 years at the BBC, says he has been to more than 40 Sports Personality of the Year shows.

The final contenders will be revealed on tonight's show for the first time in the 65-year history of the programme.

Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan will present the show - live from Birmingham's Genting Arena - and there will be eight awards given out, as well as recognition for this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year that was announced in October.
