Dan: For me it has to be either England at Euros lifting the nation's spirit or Emma Raducanu bringing home the US Title.

Normally the build-up to Sports Personality of the Year would see hundreds of people waiting to take their seats and a bit of a buzz in and around the venue but things are obviously very different this year.

MediaCity in Salford is the venue for tonight and it is perhaps just as well there is not going to be any audience members because of the coronavirus situation as it is very cold and very foggy. Definitely a night to be cosy on the sofa watching on TV.

Again, in normal times there would be the glitz and the glamour of celebrities and contenders arriving on the red carpet but that is absent for this year's show.

There's a few people hanging around hoping to catch one or two of the famous faces who will be here but otherwise it is all pretty quiet.
