    Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore has been voted World Sport Star of the Year, after becoming the first female rider to win the Grand National at Aintree.

    American gymnast Simone Biles has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.

    The 24-year-old, who has won four Olympic gold medals and 19 World Championship titles, said it was an "unbelievable honour" and "truly humbling".

    We're hoping to hear more from Sports Personality of the Year winner Emma Raducanu sometime soon but the others who made the top three have been brought through to show off their awards to the media.

    Here's a very dapper Adam Peaty proudly displaying his trophy for third place. In the pool nothing but first will do but he seems very happy with this and praised Raducanu as a deserved winner.

    "Everyone has done so much incredible stuff this year," he says.

    As for Peaty, what does the future hold?

    "What next? Win. And win again," he says.

    Raducanu’s remarkable triumph at Flushing Meadows saw her end Britain's 44-year wait for a British women's Grand Slam singles champion.

    She becomes the first female tennis player to be crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year since Virginia Wade.

    Wade, of course, was the last British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title in 1977.

    Thoroughly deserved. What a sensational year it has been for the teenage US Open champion.

    And what a joy it has been for us all to follow her rapid rise, all the way from 338th in the world prior to her run to the Wimbledon fourth round, to winning the US Open as a qualifier in only her second Grand Slam.

    A genuine sporting fairytale.
