Manchester City captain Kyle Walker on winning the team award: "We just want to say a massive thank you. Obviously to go on and win the treble and the Champions League was a special moment in all of our careers. As club captain, sorry we can't be there but thank you again."
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola added: "It's so prestigious so thank you. It's because we won a lot! This incredible treble was the hard work of all the players and was for all of us and especially our fans. Have a lovely evening, I'm so jealous I can't be there but maybe in the future I can go!"
Sir Bobby Charlton, a Manchester United legend and a key figure in England's 1966 World Cup victory, was among the sporting greats lost in 2023.
Charlton won 106 caps for England and scored 49 international goals - both records for his country at the time - while, during a 17-year first-team career with United, he won three league titles, a European Cup and an FA Cup.
In February 1958, he was a survivor of the Munich air crash in which 23 people died, including eight of his United team-mates. Ten years later he inspired United to the club's first European Cup win.
We’ve reached the part of the show over on BBC One where we take a moment to remember those in sport we lost in 2023.
Our BBC Sport online colleague Jamie Strickland will feature in the montage.
Jamie was one of the unsung heroes behind our coverage – working in the team who write and edit the stories you read on the BBC Sport website and app.
Jamie died on 9 November after a short illness. He was loved by all of his colleagues, and we miss him terribly.
Our thoughts are with his wife Emma, and their two children.

Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement winner Sir Kenny Dalglish speaking on BBC One:
"I'm very grateful to the BBC, I don't know about their wisdom but they've chosen me to get this award and I'll treasure this dearly. It's really a thank you speech from me to the people involved. A couple of the lads have done us a real turn in the management game, you can work out for yourselves who that was. Some maybe not so good!
"All we did in the football was to try and make people happy and the best way to do that was to get results. Fortunately we managed to do that a few times and if they enjoyed us winning it's only a fraction of the enjoyment we got from playing for them.
"I'll always be eternally grateful to people who stood by me and gave me a job. Celtic, Liverpool, Blackburn, Newcastle was fantastic, maybe not the most successful but the family loved it there so when I got the sack I was in the bad books. For me it's not about taking part it's about winning and fortunately for myself we were able to do that.
"Present day I've got a job at Liverpool, it's a non-executive director, I don't know what it means but I've got a job. I'm quite fortunate that when I went back we won a trophy.
"We've mentioned Hillsborough, everybody knows what went on there and the people at Hillsborough are more important than football.
"As they say, you'll never walk alone. I genuinely appreciate this."

A record breaking forward for Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland, Sir Kenny Dalglish achieved glory as a player and as a manager.
The 72-year-old won eight league titles and three European Cups as a player and manager at Anfield after joining the club from the Bhoys in 1977. He also led Blackburn to the title, and remains Scotland's most-capped male player and joint record goalscorer.
In the aftermath of Hillsborough, Dalglish, Liverpool manager at the time of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, offered support to grieving families.
Liverpool and Scotland legend Sir Kenny Dalglish will now be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.

BBC Sport MMA reporter
With each passing year, British MMA goes from strength to strength and 2023 has seen arguably its most successful 12 months yet. For the first time in history, Britain currently has two UFC champions in Birmingham’s Leon Edwards and Manchester’s Tom Aspinall.
Edwards, 32, solidified his position as the UFC welterweight king, defending his title for the first time against Kamaru Usman in March, before cruising to victory over Colby Covington last week. In victory, Edwards surpassed Michael Bisping as the Briton with the most ever title defences in the UFC, with two.
Aspinall, 30, meanwhile, beat Sergei Pavlovich in November on just two weeks notice to secure the UFC interim heavyweight belt, and with his remarkably high finish rate of six first round wins in eight bouts, looks to be one of the most exciting MMA talents Britain has ever produced.
Elsewhere, fellow Mancunian Dakota Ditcheva, 25, beat Valentina Scatizzi earlier this month to win the PFL Europe flyweight title and is perfectly placed to shine on the global stage in 2024, while Northern Ireland’s Leah McCourt, 31, stopped Sara McMann in October to set up a Bellator featherweight title fight with all-time great Cris Cyborg,
There were also key victories for Muhammad Mokaev and Paddy Pimblett, and with exciting bouts booked for Molly McCann and UFC debutant Michael ‘Venom’ Page, in 2024, there’s every chance we could be singing Britain’s praises in the sport yet again 12 months from now.

Former javelin world champion Fatima Whitbread speaking to BBC One:
"I'm no stranger to standing on a stage speaking but I'd like to thank you for having me. It's a very special award, as Helen [Rollason] was a friend of mine. I remember Helen ringing me and asking for me to be her first international athlete to be interviewed. Now I can stand here, privileged and proud, and I represent the care system sector and celebrate the remarkable resilience of children across the UK. All of which face challenges but they're children of our future. If we can invest in them at an early age we can help decide their future.
"I'm calling for fundamental change to make today and tomorrow safer, happier and healthier, so that they may well reach their full potential one day too. We all have a moral and ethical responsibility to help these children.
"Most of us have families and we do the best we can for them, with unconditional love, help them through education and friendships. I'm working really hard as Fatima's UK Campaign to rejuvenate the care sector which it desperately needs. I'm bringing about a summit to bring the four nations together to bring better outcomes for children. I'm asking you, as not a lot has happened since I was in the care system to help make a difference. Not just today, but tomorrow and for future generations. It's so important we build better, happier lives in a nicer society. We all need to feel heard, seen and valued."
Erling Haaland can't be with us tonight, he and his Manchester City team-mates are off playing at the Fifa Club World Cup.
Speaking in a video message, he said on BBC One:
"Sorry I can't be there but thank you for voting for me. Last season was incredible I won the treble and we did amazing.
"Thank you again, enjoy!"
You have named Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as the 2023 World Sport Star!
It comes after the Norwegian, 23, helped Manchester City secure the Treble with his 52 goals in all competitions.
That included setting a Premier League record with 36 goals in 38 games.
Now it's time to see who you have voted as World Sport Star of the Year, following in the footsteps of 2022 winner Lionel Messi.
Will it be Simone Biles (Gymnastics), Aitana Bonmati (Football), Novak Djokovic (Tennis), Erling Haaland (Football), Siya Kolisi (Rugby Union) or Max Verstappen (Formula 1)?
