My sporting highlight of the year was watching the Lionesses grow as a team in both popularity and performance, and come second in the World Cup! From watching as a child in 2015, it's amazing to see the growth, for both local teams and the national levels

    Sir Kenny is here!

Former Scotland international and Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish is here to collect the lifetime achievement award.

“It’s very humbling to win the award. It’s not just me that’s won it, it’s everybody,” said Dalglish.

“Celtic looked after me, then Liverpool, then you move on and go into management and you still get that support. That’s why I’m here.”

I’ve also been chatting to boxer Natasha Jonas, who is a huge Liverpool fan.

She says her little nephew plays for the club so she is lucky to have met Dalglish before and has a photo together.

“My mum’s lingering by The King tonight for a photo! She’s desperate for one,” added Jonas.

Liverpool-born Katarina Johnson-Thompson is doing an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live next to me and is singing Dalglish’s praises too. He’s a popular man!
