Elastic limbs and scorching pace means that Grigor Dimitrov can cover not only every blade of grass, but also the front three rows of Centre Court seats if required.

The Bulgarian's rearguard defence on one rally ends with him stretching his groin and everyone else's eyes watering as he is left in a perfect splits.

No marks for artistic merit here though and Djokovic holds despite his scrambling.

It takes two overhead blasts to kill off the rally at 15-30, but Grigor Dimitrov finally runs the legs out of Novak Djokovic. A feisty first serve gives him 40-30 and Djokovic gambles on a rush to the net on the next rally.

He got in position, but his hands let him down, duffing the volley into the net.

Grigor Dimitrov looks over his shoulder and pumps at little fist at coach Roger Rasheed and girlfriend Maria Sharapova in the players' box. Or perhaps it is directed towards the Hawk-Eye boffins in the gods.

The video review corrects the call to rule his final forehand in and take him across the second-set line.

Old guard versus young gun. It is wild west hot on Centre Court and Wimbletown ain't big enough for the both of them.

The tables have spun as fast as the theme-park teacups.

It starts with a shot as cute as a litter of labradors.

Grigor Dimitrov's sumptuous pick-up half volley has the crowd cooing and and gives him 0-30. Love-thirty becomes 15-40 and Dimitrov makes hay at the front of the court again, shutting down the angle and forcing Djokovic wide. Double break and a game away.

Grigor Dimitrov carefully dodges the counter-punch, holding serve for the loss of just the one point.

Novak Djokovic is in a match now. There are gallons of competitive juices in his system though. This is how he likes it.

That burning smell. That might be the fuse lit. Either that or spectator skin under the roasting sun.

Grigor Dimitrov has a look at 0-30. A heavy slice comes fizzing off his racquet and curls wide, but he brings up two break points with a forehand winner in the next rally.

Djokovic creeps in and forces his frantic opponent to hand over the first. But under pressure from battering forehands, he nets to concede the second.

Gutsy stuff from Grigor Dimitrov. He is soaking up some heavy punishment from Novak Djokovic, but under artillery fire in his first Wimbledon semi-final he has dug in in this second set.

He faces down a break point to keep it on serve. Djokovic has been pretty much perfect so far in this match, but has been patchy at times during the tournament. Will there be a let-up and a chance for Dimitrov to get at the top seed?
