Venus Williams, who overcame four rain delays to beat Daria Kasatkina: "I thought all the rain breaks were like something out of a movie. My opponent played well, it wasn't easy to play against somebody so inspired. The 10-8 set was pretty intense - holding serve is easier said than done. I've played seven hours of tennis in the last 24 hours and I've got doubles tomorrow so hopefully Sunday will be a chance for a break depending on what the All-England Club decide."

Serena Williams gets into a spot of 30-30-style bother. But she dredges up some more bulletproof serving to keep things from getting any more dramatic.

The top seed is teetering though. Have no doubt. This is very uncomfortable. One slip and she could be seeded toast.

Well, well, well. Tara Moore has come out fighting!

After being thoroughly beaten in the first set by experienced Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, she's broken back in the opening game.

Moore wins two break points and watches Kuznetsova slam a forehand into the net. 

The crowd go wild for the British wildcard.

Job done for Nick Kyrgios. A ear-splitting roar greets the winning point, the Aussie finally lapping the plaudits. Dustin Brown can't repeat his heroics of last year - beating Rafa Nadal - but pushed the 15th seed all the way.

The pair share a warm embrace at the net, despite Kyrgios having a pop at his opponent earlier. Brown's crime? Having fun. Perhaps they made up when the heavens opened, bonding over their mutual Rafa slaying.

What an effort from both Venus Williams and Daria Kasatkina.  A clash that started this morning finally came to an end with the former champion winning 10-8 in the final set.

A slight delay on Court Three - this time not for the weather.

A ballboy looks like he's hurt himself, or is a bit poorly, so the umpire picks up the phone and ushers him off court.

Play resumes and Svetlana Kuznetsova holds to take a 5-1 lead, before breaking Britain's Tara Moore to love to take the first set.

It looks like the moment has got to Christina. She has not had as much experience on the big stages and in big matches so it is a lot to ask for.

Serena Williams turning the screw now.

Big boshing forehands and Cristina McHale cannot live with the power. She strays long for 0-30.

First serve missed.

Second serve monstered on return. 0-40 and three break points.

And McHale scapes them all back off the table.

That enforced break hasn't slowed down the entertainment. Dustin Brown saved the break point after the restart - but then wildly lashed two shots long to put Kyrgios in command. Three eye-watering aces from the Aussie in the next game now leaves him one more hold away from the third round. And, of course, a step closer to (potentially) meeting Andy Murray in the last 16. 

British wildcard Tara Moore is back out on Court Three after the rain break but she's struggling to get a foot in the match.

The world number 227 finds herself 4-1 down in the opening set against Russian 14th seed Svetlana Kuznetsova.

We have just seen the first set of jitters from the 24-year-old as she double-faults to hand back the break.

Serena Williams offers up a break point as she twangs a forehand into the top of the net... 30-40.

Into the net comes the top seed, a volley to Christina McHale's feet, another back into the underdog's hitting zone, and finally at the third time of asking Serena can only pat wide between the tramlines.

The favourite looked as awkward as if she had been called into the headmasters' office as she came in there.

Lights, camera, action. Take three. 

Aussie firebrand Nick Kyrgios and Dustin 'Dreddy Tennis' Brown roll back on to Court Two, trying to put their second-round match to bed. They only started it seven hours ago.

Kyrgios spat his dummy out earlier - standard - but picked it back up and is now on a break point in the deciding set. Game on.
