It is really incredible at 36 that Venus is in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.

She is always a dangerous threat.

Venus has won this five times and her passion is just as strong as ever and is playing very well.

It was all about the code violations and sit-down protests in the doubles match between Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers, and Britain's Jonny Marray and Adil Shamasdin.

Cuevas was handed a code violation for unsportsmanlike behaviour when he threatened to urinate into a ball can after being told he could not leave the court to visit the bathroom in the fifth set.

He then angrily smashed a ball out of the court following a double fault and the 15th seeds were docked a point, resulting in Cuevas and his partner sitting down and refusing to play the final game.

    The tetchy pair ended up losing their third-round match 6-3 4-6 6-4 3-6 14-12.

The pair are tied at 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 4-6 13-13 with Mate Pavic of Croatia and New Zealand's Michael Venus.

Murray and Soares, the third seeds and Australian Open champions, won the first two sets and also had a break in the fifth but were unable to maintain their advantage.

They've been going for an epic four hours and 51 minutes, and will restart again after 13:00 BST on court 17.

Matthew Plampton: Would love to see @Venuseswilliams lift Wimbledon trophy again. I still use that 2005 final fightback as sporting motivation.

Chris Brown: If Cibulkova isn't too tired, she'd be my pick. An Aus Open final rematch could on the cards though!

Serbian world number one Novak Djokovic has already said he won't be involved in the tie.

The 29-year-old admitted he was not 100% fit after he was knocked out of Wimbledon in the third round by Sam Querrey.

This year, he has returned to base, outside a sports equipment shop and is looking all the happier for it.

Tomas Berdych had a face of thunder in the late stages of his match yesterday.

There's speculation in the Czech press as to what rattled the 10th seed the most during his unfinished 'derby' against compatriot Jiri Vesely.

Newspaper Blesk, external says it was a combination of "darkness, five match points and Mexican waves" that made the veteran's head "almost explode".

We didn't quite get through all the men's last 16 matches yesterday because these two Czechs seem to love a tie-break.

Jiri Vesely, the world number 64, fought back from two-sets-to-one down against 10th seed Tomas Berdych to win a mammoth fourth set tie-break 11-9 before bad light ended play.

The pair will resume after 13:00 BST for a chance to face Lucas Pouille in the quarter-finals.
