Nestor is still a force, maybe not quite so much as a few years ago but he’s seen it and done it all. This court, I’m sure, is going to help him. Physicality isn’t going to come into it. One thing I think we can guarantee – there are going to be tie-breakers!

Daniel Nestor has the sort of weathered, middle-aged face that you'd be surprised to see still racing around you local park, never mind a Davis Cup court.

    Canada 1-1 Great Britain

The four men - all skyscrapers of humans - tower over the umpire as they contest the coin toss. Cheesy grins aplenty for the pre-match snap before the players limber up. Vasek Pospisil seems to be moving freely, no tape on that left knee. One might suggest he lured Kyle Edmund in with some classic rope-a-dope.

    Canada 1-1 Great Britain

Just in case you missed any of yesterday's action, here is the state of play.

Dan Evans - Britain's leading player in Andy Murray's absence - beat 17-year-old Denis Shapovalov 6-3 6-3 6-4 as the visitors led 1-0.

But Vasek Pospisil fought off a knee injury to upset Kyle Edmund 6-4 6-1 7-6 (7-3).

  7. 'Hard to call'published at 18:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2017

    Jamie Baker
Former GB Davis Cup player on BBC Two

Pospisil and Nestor have played quite a bit together, they took a bronze medal in Rio. Nestor has so much experience. This court here is so quick it will come down to a few points and it’s very hard to call.

Standing in the way of this British boys in this pivotal doubles rubber is Canadian pair Vasek Pospisil and 44-year-old Daniel Nestor. Nestor might be knocking on a bit but he isn't ready for the knacker's yard yet. And his doubles CV - former world number one and Olympic champion - is mighty impressive. Another Davis Cup success to add to it?

Hello! And welcome to day two of Great Britain's opening 2017 Davis Cup tie.

Without their bruising brothers working in tandem, GB are hoping Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot can prove to be The Nasty Boys as they overcome Canada's version of The Quebecers.

    Let's get ready to ruuuuuuumble!

The two big-hitting bruisers might be missing but that doesn't mean we're not watching a good tear-up.

Great Britain - without Andy Murray in their corner - took the first swing and landed a big blow. But Canada hit back with a heavy counter-punch and levelled up the scorecard, despite being without Milos Raonic.

Today tennis goes all tag team. But Britain are without their Brothers of Destruction...
