Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 6-5 Evans*
A brilliant winner puts Pospisil 0-15 ahead, a not-so brilliant return puts Evans 0-30 behind.
The Briton digs in to haul himself level at 30-30, the Canadian crowd roaring their encouragement to Pospisil in a brief pause. Evans demands the same ball back, it does the trick as he moves 40-30 ahead.
But Pospisil senses this is his chance, a wonderful winner forcing deuce...
Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 6-5 Evans*
Vasek Pospisil brings out the sledgehammer. He batters Dan Evans with his serve, leaving the Briton dazed and confused after three thumping aces. A swig of ice-cool water for Evo as he gathers his thoughts at the changeover. Ice-cool temperament is what he needs here. Serving to stay in the match again.
*Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 5-5 Evans
If Dan Evans is feeling any pressure then he isn't showing it. He trails 0-15 before rattling out four quick winning points to hold. Now he gets another look at the Pospisil serve.
Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 5-4 Evans*
The Canadian saves the break point then takes the advantage after a breath-holding 23-shot rally.
Can he convert? We've seen him pull out a big first serve at crucial times in this match. He does it again! Evans is unable to find the strength to crack the ball back over the net.
Now the Brit must hold serve to stay in this match.
*Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 4-4 Evans
The jitters get to Vasek Pospisil as he volleys into the net from close range at 40-15. That should have been a banker.
And he pays. Dan Evans takes the game to deuce with a sumptuous backhand winner down the line, then digs out a brilliant return on the opposite flank to force Pospisil into the net.
From 0-40 down to a break point for Dan Evans...
*Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 4-4 Evans
He can! Dan Evans puts his foot on the throat of Vasek Pospisil. Metaphorically of course. They haven't had a dust up at the changeover.

The Canadian are on the feet, holding up giant masks of Vasek Pospisil's mug. They're sensing victory.
An Evans miss is cheered almost as loud as a Pospisil winner, an Evans double fault cheered louder than an Ottawa Senators NHL title win.
Break point to Canada...
Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 4-3 Evans*
Anything Dan Evans can do... Like the Briton did in the previous set, Vasek Pospisil battles back from 3-1 down with three games on the bounce.
A fortunate drop-shot bamboozles Evans for 40-15, the Canadian mopping up the hold to the delight of partisan Ottawa crowd.
Pressure back on Evo...
*Pospisil 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 3-6 3-3 Evans
"Break, break, break!" chant the Canadian fans. They might just have their wish.
Pospisil goes 30-40 ahead when Evans drags a backhand wide, only for the Brit to force deuce when Pospisil goes long.
But the Canadian quickly earns another break point - this time he sticks it in his pocket. He wrongfoots Evans with a disguised cross-court forehand winner. Evans barely moves, Pospisil erupts in joy.

Dan’s the type of person who would be very aware that he’s never won a match from two sets down, and it looks to me like he’s really up for this. He hasn’t been outplayed at any point – OK, there have been serving patches from Pospisil when there wasn’t a lot he could do – but Dan is aware he has an opportunity to still win this match and he’s well up for it.
