    Murray v Del Potro

This is the 10th meeting between Murray and Del Potro, with Muzza previously winning six of those encounters.

Murray triumphed at the Rio Olympics in 2016, becoming the first player to successfully defend an Olympic singles gold medal in a seesawing match.

The Briton prevailed 7-5 4-6 6-2 7-5 in a gruelling four-hour contest, which left both players in tears at the end.

    *Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 4-4 Anderson

I almost forgot that Kevin Anderson had that medical timeout earlier to get his left thigh strapped up.

I'd forgotten because it doesn't really appear to be affecting him.

Edmund leads 15-0 and then gets the big man running along the baseline, winding up an inside-out forehand to crack a winner.

That's 30-0 to Edmund for the first time on Anderson's serve in this set.

Anderson responds with, yep, you've guessed it, an ace... 15-30 soon becomes 40-30... Anderson yelping a throat-hurting "Come onnnn!" when he whacks a forehand winner down the line.

Alize Cornet has wrapped up a 6-2 6-1 victory over Agnieszka Radwanska, which means we're close to Andy Murray taking on Juan Martin del Potro.

    Here's how they match up...

    Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 4-3 Anderson*

This is going to another tie-break. There, I've said it.

Edmund moves 30-0 ahead, then 40-15 with another drilled double-handed backhand down the line.

Anderson slaps a baseline return into the net and on we go....

Kyle Utterson: Would be a huge scalp if Edmund can win this. Anderson is much better than his current ranking. Great to watch.

    *Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 3-3 Anderson

Edmund winners dry up in the fifth game, but he doesn't need them as Anderson can't respond to his service game.

And then likewise when the South African has the ball in hand.

Two straight-forward holds, not a break point in sight yet in this second set.

    *Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 2-2 Anderson

Anderson has whipped through his service game so quickly that I almost missed it. Almost. Another ace - his eighth of the day - clinches an easy peasy hold to love.

  8. Murray time soon...published at 11:27 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

    Murray v Del Potro

Andy Murray might be out on Chatrier quick sharpish.

France's Alize Cornet is blasting her way past ninth seed Aggie Radwanska with relative ease, leading 6-2 5-1 and now serving for the match.

    Muzza on next...

    Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 2-1 Anderson*

Echoes of the opening set where Edmund's serve was put under pressure early doors.

Anderson moves 30-0 ahead, Edmund digging deep - also echoing the first set - to lever his way back to 40-30 ahead.

A bit of luck for Edmund as he is rocked backwards on the baseline by a booming Anderson return, but is able to replay the point after a dodgy line-call.

The Brit resets, lands a first serve and goes on to level.

    *Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 1-0 Anderson

Eight backhand winners from Kyle Edmund in that opening set. And we've been going on about his forehand...

His service game was very solid too, sticking in 68% of his first serves and going on to win 80% of them.

Talking of serving, Anderson earns another comfortable hold.

    Edmund 7-6 (8-6) 1-0 Anderson*

With the match now into its second hour, Edmund starts the second set well, easing his way to 40-0 but then double faults for the second time in the match.

That's a lot of seconds in one sentence, but he wraps up the first game quickly.

    A confident start.

  12. Edmund packing a punchpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

There's not much doubt who most of the crowd are backing, a big British contingent here living every point with Edmund. He's added real weight to the backhand over the last year and now packs a punch off both sides. He also has a physically fragile opponent across the net.

Anderson has had a dreadful run of injuries since last summer, sliding down the rankings as his left knee, right shoulder, ankle, groin and hip have all failed him at various points. Now it looks the left thigh can be added to that list.

Weather update - it's just got a bit cooler and breezier, which doesn't generally bode well.

Yes he can! First blood to Kyle Edmund. Kevin Anderson can't beat the net with his forehand return and the Briton - after a sticky(ish) start to the set - gains the early advantage.

After a brief change of ends, Edmund serves again. Still he can't find a first serve in the tie-break, ultimately it doesn't matter.

A baseline rally ends when Anderson introduces ball to net.
