*Edmund 6-6 (3-3) Anderson
Edmund opens up the court with a deep backhand, leaving the space for him to crack a forehand winner down the opposite flank.
*Edmund 6-6 (2-3) Anderson
Anderson misses the target with his first serve, it goes long, Edmund slaps his second serve into the net. Waiting for a mini-break...
Edmund 6-6 (2-2) Anderson*
Anderson. Ace. Out wide. Nuff said.
Edmund 6-6 (2-1) Anderson*
Almost a carbon copy of the previous point. So far so good for Edmund...
*Edmund 6-6 (1-1) Anderson
Edmund hits the net with his first serve, the second attempt is planted into the net by Anderson's backhand.
*Edmund 6-6 (0-1) Anderson
Big Anderson first serve, Edmund somehow returns, baseline rally, ended only by an Edmund forehand into the tramlines...
Edmund 6-6 Anderson*
Nay bother. Another backhand winner sets Edmund on the way to an easy hold to 15.
Ding ding! Tie-break time...
*Edmund 5-6 Anderson
Pressure back on to Edmund. Mess this service game up and he will kiss goodbye to the opening set...
*Edmund 5-6 Anderson
We've talked a bit about Kyle Edmund's ferocious forehand, but it is a backhand which is causing some damage to Kevin Anderson.
Edmund pings a double-handed backhand down the line for 15-15, only for Anderson to up the ante and reassert his control.
Edmund 5-5 Anderson*
Another relatively comfortable hold for Kyle Edmund. No winners but he doesn't need them. The Briton is putting the pressure on his opponent with a decent first serve percentage of 75%, eking out errors from the South African.
*Edmund 4-5 Anderson
Kevin Anderson is in a bit of bother. Not because of Kyle Edmund's serve - not yet anyway - but because he needs a medical timeout.
What seems like metres and metres of strapping is wrapped around the South African's long left thigh. A generous round of applause from the crowd indicates he is jogging back to the baseline.
One to watch...

The sun emerges unexpectedly and the decision to swap sunblock for a hoodie appears a poor one - for now. "Let's go, Kedders!" is Leon Smith's regular refrain for his charge. "Great shot, Kevin!" responds Kelsey Anderson. Two popular players on the circuit with nice teams behind them - Team Anderson just offered up one of their towels so the British press could dry their seats. Classy.
*Edmund 4-5 Anderson
Oh hello. A sniff of a chance for Edmund. 30-30, Anderson's second serve...
Ah. Second serve? No problem. The Big-Server crashes down a wonderful service winner, which Edmund can't get a string on.
That is enough to knock the stuffing out of Edmund. As you were.
Edmund 4-4 Anderson*
Both of these blokes were born in Johannesburg, by the way. One of them made the wise decision - or at least his family did - to move to Yorkshire.
Who needs a bustling metropolis when you've got the quaint market town of Beverley? And the North Yorks Moors on your doorstep? And the east coast seaside towns? Need I go on...
Anyway, tennis. Let's talk tennis. Edmund wins the first point on his serve for the time today, setting the platform to go on and hold to 15.
Perhaps he settled his mind by dreaming about home...
*Edmund 3-4 Anderson
That is the first service game where Kyle Edmund has not faced a break point. Can he build on that and threaten Kevin Anderson's serve for the first time?
In a word, no. Edmund's only gain comes when Anderson miscues a cross-court forehand volley, some more hefty serving - including an ace for 30-0 and a service winner to clinch the game - doing a job for the South African.
Edmund 3-3 Anderson*
Ooh err. Not the greatest start as the Yorkshireman puts himself under pressure with a double fault for 0-30.
But he soon wakes up, crashing down a couple of backhand winners - the second taking a big chunk of the net to leave Anderson floundering - and sealing the hold with an ace.
Anything you can do Kev...
*Edmund 2-3 Anderson
Right then Kyle. Let's have a routine hold to alleviate some of that early pressure...

Team Murray were out on Chatrier before the crowds this morning going through their drills, the value of Jamie Delgado clear as he's more than good enough to act as hitting partner if they wish to keep things in-house. That allows Lendl to survey the scene, passing on the odd word, while fitness trainer Matt Little and physio Mark Bender are on hand for any twinges. They also do their best as ball boys.

*Edmund 2-3 Anderson
Again, pretty routine for Anderson on his serve. Edmund gets two points on the board through unforced errors from the former world number 10, but the Yorkshireman slams a backhand into the net at 40-30 for Anderson to hold.
Tight.
