Murray 6-6 (4-4) Wawrinka*
Stan does what Stan has to do..hold. He pins Murray back behind the baseline with some more thumping forehands, Murray unable to clear the net with a backhand.
Murray 6-6 (4-3) Wawrinka*
The unforced error count is creeping up for Wawrinka. 21 compared to eight from Murray.
Can the Scot drive this advantage home?
A good second serve is followed by a good deep forehand but that's in the net. Back on serve once again.
*Murray 6-6 (4-2) Wawrinka
Let-off. The ball sits up nicely for Wawrinka to wallop a forehand winner with Murray scampering...
He's missed it! The Swiss takes a big chunk of the tape, the ball flipping up and out of the court.
Muzza in command...
*Murray 6-6 (3-2) Wawrinka
Murray has his nose ahead again.
Wawrinka mis-cues a forehand looking for good depth but it is out by a good four feet.
Murray 6-6 (2-2) Wawrinka*
A slow-kick serve from Stan, the wind pushing it wide, Muzza batting a backhand into the net.
Murray 6-6 (2-1) Wawrinka*
Excellent judgement Muzza.
He was more confident than me. The Scot comes in to the net and is in good position to put the ball away but Wawrinka's backhand just sails long.
*Murray 6-6 (1-1) Wawrinka
Chance for Murray to give himself some breathing space...
Ah. The Brit tries to slice a backhand from the baseline, the wind picking it up and floating it into the tramlines.
*Murray 6-6 (1-0) Wawrinka
Stan first up in the breaker. Which way will this go?
The Swiss takes a little time before serving to calm the nerves. Just wide with the first serve.
And long with the second! What a mistake!
Murray has the mini-break.

Coach Lendl has taken his sweater off - it's hot work out there. Legends circuit stalwart Mansour Bahrami leans against the VIP box, possibly wondering why nobody has caught a ball in their pocket or borrowed a policeman's hat yet. Simona Halep has dropped in after her pre-final news conference. Coach Darren Cahill has a ringside seat once again. Expert eyes all around Chatrier.
*Murray 5-6 Wawrinka
Apparently umpire Jake Garner had a quick word with Wawrinka during the changeover, reminding him that coach Magnus Norman can't, well, coach during the match.

It is nip and tuck there is nothing in this.
Murray seems to be playing a little more freely than against Nishikori.
*Murray 5-6 Wawrinka
Stan Wawrinka is looking to be the oldest man to reach a Roland Garros final since 1973.
Let me tell you this: the 32-year-old is far from past it. His power is frightening.
Again he almost blows Murray off court with a forehand winner, and although battles back to 40-30, the Swiss sees the game out.
Muzza serving to stay in the opening set...
Murray 5-5 Wawrinka*
Image source, EPAThe adrenaline is pumping around Murray's body now. The Scot crunches a 99mph forehand winner to 30-0 ahead as he looks to hold.
Murray groans as he has to drop a gear and sprint forward to meet a Wawrinka drop-shot...he's made it...but so has Stan.
Wawrinka's return lacks power and Murray lies in waits to pat down the winner...40-0
Game point...Murray pushes Wawrinka wide on the backhand side, and when the Brit goes to the opposite flank with a backhand volley, Stan slips and drops his racquet.
Whether he would have reached that anyway is debatable...

Andrew Neill: Age old tennis wisdom - it's not a break till you've consolidated it (unless you do it at 5-4 up on serve I guess).
Luke Davies: What a game of tennis this is! Great defence from Murray.

Unbelievable defensive lob from Murray. We have seen it time and time again.
On this court it is so hard to put the ball away. It was almost out of frustration that Wawrinka swung wildly at the last one.
*Murray 4-5 Wawrinka
Image source, Getty ImagesOne thing you never, ever do is write off Andy Murray.
Stan Wawrinka's right arm has turned into a cannon. He's firing off some heavy artillery, but Murray is batting them back like they are nothing.
Break back point for the Brit as Stan misses the sideline. And Murray's doggedness forces the Swiss into another mistake.
As you were...

The crowd might be a bit thin but they summoned up a huge roar when Wawrinka cracked that forehand cross-court to break - his 16th winner in just over half an hour. They love their former champion and it's little wonder when he can so consistently hit the most extravagant winners.
