Think Wawrinka must have plugged himself into a portable charger at the changeover after that fourth set breaker.

If he was a mobile phone made by a company named after everybody's favourite fruit, then he'd be at about 85% battery I reckon.

Murray wouldn't be far behind, but he is lacking Stan's explosiveness at the start of the decider.

Stan batters down a 85mph backhand for 15-0 on Murray's serve, then hammers a smash for 40-30 and another break point...

Murray needs something to fire him up a little. Where's that camera he hates on Lenglen? Can someone fetch it?

Wawrinka rattles through an easy hold, powering down a serve at 40-0 that almost burns a hole in Murray's strings.

    Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-7 (3-7) 0-1 Wawrinka*

Advantage Stan. This is the first break point since the third set and the Swiss takes it clinically. He forces Muzza on to the back foot with some more heavy-hitting, Murray unable to clear the net with a fetch of a backhand.

Murray starts a little slowly, maybe he is emotionally drained. We know you all are.

Wawrinka goes 30-0 ahead, Muzza clipping an convincing lob onto the baseline for 30-15, but then Stan legs it across the court to knock a forehand winner around the net-post.

More bend than Beckham that one. Break point...

Go on have five mins, Matt. You've deserved it.

Four hours and counting now on Chatrier. We told you it would be long. Hope you cleared the work diary.

Murray to get the fifth set rock'n'rolling...

A quick look at the stats tells us Murray has the far better record when things go the distance.

He has won 23 five-set matches and lost nine in his career, compared to a 25-20 record for Wawrinka.

Anyway. The players can't have a lie down but I might in the office.

Here's Jonathan Jurejko to see this one home.

I'll go with the world number one to win. I have been wrong before, and if Stan gets rolling and starts smacking winners no-one can stay with him.

There's been nothing between them and the battle will rage all the way and there will be ebbs and flows.

Set point number one for Wawrinka...

He takes it! Another return crunched with the forehand.

    We're going all the way.

Uh oh, Murray is chuntering to his box after that previous point. Keep calm and defend on, Andy.

He can't. The Brit belts a forehand long.

    Three set points for Wawrinka...

    Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-6 (3-5) Wawrinka*

Still Wawrinka has the mini-break. That is a very late call on the Swiss' serve. Late but correct. The umpire confirms the ball landed wide of the side line.

Another gruelling point goes Wawrinka's way. Murray waves his arm. He's not happy with his movement there.

A bang on the shoes to remove the red clay from Murray. Five, six, seven bounces of the ball.

Oh Andy! He goes for a drop shot but it isn't even close. Halfway down the net.

    Pressure?

    *Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-6 (2-3) Wawrinka

There's smoke coming off the ball. Wawrinka fires a serve down the T - it is clocked at 130+mph - and although Muzza sticks strings on it, he can't keep the return down.

    Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-6 (2-2) Wawrinka*

"Merci," says the umpire in an attempt to quieten the crowd down. They oblige.

That is wild! We're back on serve as Stan puts a forehand well, well wide.

  15. Tie-breakpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

    Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-6 (1-2) Wawrinka*

Don't worry yet Murray fans. There were seven mini-breaks in the first tie-break...

Muzza digs deep, again, to keep in the baseline rally, Stan eventually losing patience and thumping a forehand into the net chord.

Stan looks interested as he gets a look at a second serve. He hammers it. Murray manages to extend the rally but eventually can do no more.

    First mini-break to the Swiss.

Right, this is either going to be over in a matter of seconds. Or we're going into a FIFTH hour.

Stan serves first... makes it out wide... a short rally... Wawrinka batters a forehand to safety.

That's a big statement from the Swiss...

    Murray 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-5 6-6 Wawrinka

Murray's serve helps him get back on terms after Wawrinka smashes another laser-like backhand beyond him on the first point.

More good hands from the Scot. Wawrinka gets plenty of slice on his shot to make Murray's volley awkward but Muzza deals with it well.

"Come on," Murray chirps as he takes us into a tie-break. This match will either be over in the next 10 minutes or we'll have a long way to go with a decider.

That drop-shot for 30-0 took everyone in the stadium by surprise. It certainly took Andy Murray by surprise.

Every time Murray comes forward and loses a point he turns around and remonstrates with his box.

That might have been something they worked on, or didn't work on enough.

Wawrinka is mixing it up more than the crash bang whallop of the opening part of this match.

He plays two drop shots in this latest game and it helps him do the business. Pressure over onto Murray now.
