    *Federer 4-3 Dolgopolov

Huge cheers from Centre Court as Roger Federer lands a glorious forehand return to a 90 mph serve.

Then the third seed sends a forehand right on to the white lines to make it 30-30.

A break point goes amiss for the Swiss, but he has another opportunity after deuce. Dolgopolov survives again.

Eventually, the Ukrainian world number 84 holds. He's being tested here, though.

    Boulter 6-3 5-7 McHale

Chance for McHale at 15-30 on Boulter's serve - the Briton is scrambling here and the American duly puts her away with a arcing forehand winner.

Two more set points for McHale. She fires long as Boulter saves the first.

She can't save the second though, scrambling again but McHale is up at the net and in control as Boulter eventually misfires on the volley.

The wildcard player came all the way back but it counts for little now.

    Into the decider we go...

Dolgopolov always relies on his defensive skills and grass is the hardest surface to defend on. Also, with that strapping on his ankle you wonder if it will restrict his movement.

    *Federer 3-2 Dolgopolov

Dolgopolov hits a line judge's anatomy with a first serve and the crowd wince in unison.

How do the line judges not flinch when a tennis ball comes at them at a million miles an hour? I'd scream like a banshee and wave my arms around in pain.

Anyway, Federer has another break point but the Swiss can only net a forehand. Deuce.

Dolgopolov takes the advantage and holds when Federer fails to return in the lines.

Alexandr Dolgopolov pleases the crowd with a delectable forehand winner at the net and then adds an ace. Ooohs and aggghs all around.

    Boulter 6-3 5-5 McHale*

Strange goings on court 12 - McHale is convinced that a ball called out has dropped in and wants to challenge.

Only, there's been a Hawk-eye malfunction. They can't get the replay and so the original call stands.

The American is fired up and swinging - she levels at 15-15 but tightens up and Boulter makes it 30-15 then 40-15.

The Briton then belts a late backhand into the net but a fantastic deep backhand winner levels it at 5-5. Boulter was 2-5 and a set point down. What a comeback.

But the seven-time champion can't capitalise and we go to deuce.

A sublime Federer forehand gives the Swiss the advantage, and Dolgopolov slams into the net to hand Fed the game.

    Ominous.

  16. Boulter breaks backpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    *Boulter 6-3 4-5 McHale

Boutler takes it to her opponent with a well-controlled high volley to set up break point on the McHale serve.

An unfortunate mis-hit takes it back to deuce but she forces McHale to fire wide and here's another break point.

Boulter gets behind the serve and her chipped return drops just over the net - McHale can't get there in time and, from seemingly nowhere, Boulter is firmly back in this second set.

    She'll serve next to level.
