Heather Watson didn't need much vocal encouragement in that rapid opening set.

Now she needs a little more help. The crowd are happy to oblige.

Cries of "Come on 'Ev" echo around Court Two like it is a cave as she stutters again in her service game at 3-1.

Watto responds with a hefty roar as she grinds out a hold.

It's been slim pickings so far today for the autograph and selfie hunters who gather outside the Aorangi Park practice courts, waiting for stars to arrive or depart - so you can imagine their excitement when former Wimbledon champion, all round tennis legend and Novak Djokovic's current coach, Andre Agassi bounced into view.

Ever the showman, Andre did not disappoint, signing everything thrust in his direction and posing for selfies with a smile before departing with a thumbs up - I just hope I didn't get in the way of any of them.

    Watson 6-0 2-3 Sevastova*

The crowd attempt to gee Watson up as she sees a 30-0 lead slip to 30-30, her forehands slicing wide.

That's better, Watson up to the net and on one leg to hammer a winner beyond Sevastova, but another floaty forehand takes us to deuce.

Another Watson drop shot, not convincing but tapped with enough delicacy to beat Sevastova, ensures an important hold for the Brit.

    Cibulkova 6-4 Brady*

Jennifer Brady is giving Dominika Cibulkova a good workout on court 18 as she levels it at 30-30.

The eighth seed then unfurls a majestic deep backhand that Brady can't get back to bring up set point.

And she makes no mistake. First set to the Slovak - 89% of points won on her first serve. Tidy.

    *Rosol 5-7 Muller

They looked to be heading to a tie-break but Rosol's resolve has fallen away against Muller.

The cap-wearing Luxembourg 16th seed finally breaks the Czech in the 11th game and then holds to love to wrap up the first set.

Watson played so well in the first set and she didn't allow her opponent to get into it and play but now she's making a few more mistakes. Sevastova has got it going a bit. The dynamic and momentum has changed.

    *Watson 6-0 1-3 Sevastova

Watson struggled to close out her first round match here, just losing her rhythm as the match reached a crescendo.

Still plenty to go in this match but there's just been a few more errors coming from Watson in the last few points. It's a comfortable 40-15 hold for Sevastova.

    *Cibulkova 5-4 Brady

Dominika Cibulkova has an odd talent. The Slovakian is able to smell any tennis ball and correctly identify which Grand Slam it comes from.

Well, she's in with a sniff (sorry) of this first set now as she finally breaks Jennifer Brady.

The American was up 40-15 on serve but Cibulkova hit back to set up a break point, then another, both of which were defended brilliantly by Brady.

Yet the eighth seed's craft finally told as she set up a third break point with a terrific sliced winner and then forced the error next up. She'll serve for the first set.

If I was a grounds pass holder I'd be chucking a towel down on Murray Mound, slapping on plenty of sun cream and setting up camp for the day.

Konta, Murray then Nadal on Centre, all shown on the big screen at the bottom of the hill, makes this the best sofa in the UK today.

And plenty already agree. "Stay safe and cover up," warns the Wimbledon PA announcer. Temperatures in Wimbledon are set to touch 30C...

    Vesnina 2-4 Azarenka*

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka is playing only her second tournament of the season after giving birth to her son Leo in December.

The Belarusian, now ranked 683rd, is up against Russia's 15th seed Elena Vesnina in their second-round match, and, after missing out on two break points, Azarenka has just taken the third opportunity to break Vesnina's serve in the sixth game.

The winner of this one will take on either British number two Heather Watson or Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova in round three.

    Watson 6-0 1-2 Sevastova*

Good serving from Watson, right into Sevastova's body, but the Latvian forces the fourth deuce with a shoveled forehand.

Another break point comes up for Sevastova as Watson is forced long, and a double fault gifts Sevastova the break.

    Watson 6-0 1-1 Sevastova*

Heather Watson's mum, Michelle, is watching on from the stands and gives her daughter a hearty round of applause as she draws the error out of Sevastova.

That's break point for Sevastova though, a low Watson forehand finding the net, but the Brit forces it to deuce with another fine, deep drop shot.

Watson saves another break point with her first ace, but she squanders her first advantage with a loose backhand. Back to deuce...

    Rosol 4-3 Muller*

    Hey, tennis nostalgia fans!

Who remembers Lukas Rosol? The Czech pulled off one of the greatest shocks in Wimbledon history when he beat Rafael Nadal in the second round in 2012.

He's never been past the second round since then but is holding is own against 16th seed Gilles Muller out on court 12, where it's still on serve in the first set.

    *Watson 6-0 1-1 Sevastova

Watson throws the kitchen sink at a forehand from close to the net and ends up rolling her eyes in frustration as the ball rolls off the top of the net and back onto her side of court.

She pushes Sevastova long, targeting that wayward forehand, and a stonking shot from Sevastova gives the Latvian her first hold of the match.

    Watson 6-0 1-0 Sevastova*

Sevastova shrugs her shoulders and chunters towards her box as consecutive feisty forehands sail out of play.

Watson puts a bit too much on an attempted winner, the ball darting over the line, but she comes back with a fine drop shot with Sevastova camped on the baseline.

Backhand winner - and that's game, Watson!

Wow. Just wow. After 19 minutes, seven brilliant winners and zero unforced errors, Heather Watson has just scoffed a bagel!

Anastasija Sevastova stares up at her box in disbelief. Almost like they told her she was playing someone ranked outside the top 100 or something...

Heather Watson is just playing so well at the moment. She's on fire. I don't think she could have asked for anything more, she's doing everything right. Getting up to serve beautifully, making a mark on her own first serve, moving well, hitting through with great confidence.

Seven winners, 25 points, no unforced errors and 83% win on her first serve.

Magnificent from Heather Watson. She'll be serving to start the second set.
