Day three of Wimbledon is also day three of Andy Murray hip-watch, and all eyes - and camera lenses were on the defending champion's troublesome left limb as he made his way on to his usual location for his pre -match Wimbledon warm-up, which is court 15 on Aorangi Park.

Worry not, because Murray seems even less bothered by his hip than previous days, as he goes through a fitness drill - which is basically a case of move and catch - with his conditioning coach Matt Little.

  2. Federer & Djokovic through after opponents retirepublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic said Wimbledon should consider rule changes after both their first-round opponents retired with injuries.

Both players appeared for just over 40 minutes on Centre Court before their respective opponents quit - Alexandr Dolgopolov, facing Federer, had an ankle injury while Djokovic's opponent Martin Klizan struggled with his calf.

"We had a joke in the locker room saying we should maybe play a practice set on Centre Court," said Djokovic.

"The question always is, should they have started the match at all?" Federer added.

  4. Murray ready for 'nice guy' Dustinpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    Murray v Brown

Andy Murray's opponent today is one Dustin Brown, the man who won the affectons of Centre Court two years ago when he beat Rafa Nadal.

The dreadocked German has a mesmerising attacking game, and Murray says he's a nice guy off the court too.

"I know Dustin pretty well," said Murray. "We get on well with each other. We message each other from time to time. I like him. He's really, really a nice guy.

"But in terms of the match, I expect him to be very aggressive. I think he'll go for his shots. I think he'll come forward a lot. You know, he's unpredictable.

"It's not easy to play players like that."

  5. Konta eyes third roundpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

British number one Johanna Konta is bidding to reach the third round at SW19 for the first time.

She's up against world number 58 Donna Vekic, who stunned the Brit in the Nottingham final a few weeks ago.

And Konta, still searching for her first title on home soil, is relishing the opportunity available at Wimbledon.

"I play my career in a tennis season context, so I don't live my career for this week particular, this fortnight particular," she said.

"I live it for the whole season and try to really perform the best that I can in every event that I enter.

"That said, I definitely would like to be involved here for the full fortnight to help, I guess, put tennis on the map that much more."

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. That's very much the motto of the Wimbledon punters.

Because if you don't know where you're going, at roughly what time, then you're in danger of missing out on seeing someone you really wanted to see, whether that's because you've got a ticket for a show court, or because you want to nab a prime spot on Murray Mound.

That's why every morning there are tens of people crowded around this board close to one of the main entrance gates next to Centre and One.

This water looks very inviting at the top of Murray Mound on such a gloriously sunny day as today. But there are signs saying no bathing allowed, sadly. I also saw a rather large koi carp in the water nibbling away at a lily pad, rather that than someone's toe!

There's no actual rain forecast today but a racquet came tumbling out of the sky yesterday and very nearly surprised Feliciano Lopez

Lopez's opponent, Adrian Mannarino lets go of his racquet during their first-round match. Mannarino was leading by two sets to one and was a break of serve up in the fourth when Lopez retired with injury.

BBC Weather's Simon King: "Get the suncream, sun hats and lots of refreshment ready! It’s going to be a hot and humid day at Wimbledon with sunshine from start to finish and a top temperature of 27 degrees.

"That’s about it for the forecast for today, so let me give you this snippet of science: a tennis ball will travel faster in more humid air. Could we see some big serves today?

"The forecast for tomorrow is not looking as straightforward. Thursday morning will be showery with thunderstorms around the area. If one passes over Wimbledon we’ll get lightning, thunder, hail, gusty winds and a lot of rain in a short space of time."

It's already baking hot down at the Aorangi practice courts, where Andy Murray is due to arrive for a hit - and to test his hip - at 11:00 BST.

Already here is Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who seemed to be enjoying the sunshine as he sauntered down for his session, and former world number one Victoria Azarenka, warming up with her coach Michael Joyce. No sign of baby son Leo but at least Azarenka, who is first on court four against Elena Vesnina at 11:30 BST, does not have to wait around here all day for her match before getting home to see him, which is what happened on Monday.

You're doing a bit of shopping, you're in a rush so you use the self-service tills. You're scanning, you hear that robotic "unexpected item in bagging area" voice and then you're holding up the queue.

Not often the person making you wait for your shopping is Rafael Nadal, though...
