    Murray into last eight

World number one Andy Murray on BBC One: "I thought I played well today apart from a couple of sloppy service games in the first set. That's by far the best I have hit it this week. He's not an easy guy to play, tactics aren't easy against him.

"Two weeks ago I was resting and a bit concerned, it was frustrating. But I have managed it well and have played some good stuff. I'm doing well and hopefully willl keep it up."

    Nadal 3-6 4-6 Muller

A tough of nerves creep into Gilles Muller's serve as he tries to close this set out, with a double fault and an overworked forehand.

That is superb from Muller though! Down the line, a bit of spin, landing nicely on the line, and Gilles Muller continues his march towards a place in the last eight!

Muller is using that racquet as a shovel. He has just dig himself out of a hole, saving two break points to hold. How important could that be?

    What. A. Point.

The Court One crowd are whooping and gasping as both Rafael Nadal and Gilles Muller get out of tight spots that a contortionist would be proud of in a thrilling rally.

The drama continues as Muller challenges Nadal's fizzing forehand winner down the line... it's in! By the breadth of a hair follicle.

That puts Rafa 15-0 up in the eighth game of a tight second set.

Murray is a competitor at heart, he likes to take on the challenge against anyone, especially on Centre Court. He is the toughest of players and he always finds a way to win.

  15. Big break for Murraypublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Murray 7-6 6-4 5-4 Paire

Third set tie-breaker anyone? It looks that way.

Paire has gathered himself together somewhat, but we are at deuce after another double fault. Paire has hit 50 winners which is quite something, but now he coughs up a break point which could well be terminal at this stage.

Into the net! Murray breaks and moves to within a game...

That debate will roll on and on. I think we can assume though that if he wins this one Andy Murray will be back on Centre Court in his quarter final.

Murray serves at 3-4, no time to cough up a break point. He fires into the tramlines to go to 30-30, a slightly nervous murmur in the stands.

And there is a break point! Pressure now. Saved with a huge serve down the middle. And Murray holds.

    BBC Radio 5 live

Wimbledon chief excecutive Richard Lewis on today's scheduling conflicts: "You’ve got this fantastic era for men’s tennis, there’s been years where the women have outshined the men, and at the moment it’s very hard to argue beyond the big four -Djokovic, Murray, Nadal and Federer - being on Centre Court and Court One.

"All the metrics we look at, in terms of public interest, hospitality, broadcasters – everything we look at, those four men demand, almost, Centre and Court One.

"Fairness is about box office being an independent view, not about men and women. It’s not about men and women - it’s about who are the star players at the time.

"Muguruza and Kerber, we absolutely were eyes wide open, number one player in the world against a former finalist and Grand Slam champion. That’s a great match but if you look at the matches on Centre and Court One, it’s very hard to say, well, which matches would you put on number two court?"
