    Konta 3-2 Garcia*

A steely gaze from Konta as she waits between games, before she's cheered and clapped as she readies herself to serve.

A double fault gets Garcia on the board at 15-15, and Konta's responds with a deep breath and a big ace.

It's soon 40-40 though, Garcia firing in a big return right on the line, and Konta scoops the ball off the line and away into the crowd. Deuce.

    Ostapenko 6-3 6-6 (6-6) Svitolina*

That is seven match points Jelena Ostapenko has now had against Elina Svitolina, but the Ukrainian is hanging in there, only just. It is 6-6 in a second set tie-break.

  4. Important holdpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Kerber 6-4 4-6 2-1 Muguruza

Kerber holds her serve easily enough to open up a 2-0 lead in the final set. Muguruza has to hold here you feel, and despite Kerber showing a rare piece of class at the net with a fine volley, she does.

    *Konta 3-2 Garcia

    Tracy Austin
    Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion

Garcia must be feeling a little frustrated because she is hitting the ball with tremendous pace and depth but Konta is absorbing the pace and sending them back with interest and accuracy.

    *Konta 3-2 Garcia

Garcia races to a 30-0 lead as she starts to force Konta out wide, but she hesitates long enough to allow Konta to slap a winner over.

A brief blip on Garcia's serve, not quite timing it right, is easily overcome as Konta backhands a return into the net.

  7. Williams match under waypublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Konjuh 1-2 Williams

No hiccups for five-time champion and last year's semi-finalist Venus Williams in the early stages of her match against Croat 27th seed Ana Konjuh on Centre Court.

She's only dropped a point in her opening service games - her opponent held serve in her one game.

Boxer David Haye's watching - so he'll expect to see a few knockout blows.

Remember it's Andy Murray v Benoit Paire up next on the grand stage.

    Konta 3-1 Garcia*

Konta gives Garcia the run around before smashing a winner with her opponent still parked behind the baseline.

It's fascinating, watching two big servers go head to head, and Konta ensures a love hold with a fine forehand winner.

  10. Martinez on the edge of her seatpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Garbine Muguruza's coach Conchita Martinez has spent most of this match perched on the edge of her seat but she was on her feet at the end of that second set, roaring her approval. This has been some match for anyone lucky enough to have a court two ticket.

  11. Kerber has early breakpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Kerber 6-4 4-6 1-0 Muguruza

Which way will the pendulum swing now then? Just one break of serve each so far, but the opening game of the third set sees Kerber bring up a break point on the Muguruza serve.

Almost a double fault, but Kerber does break with a whirlwind down the line! What a shot.

Today it will be all about who can take the initiative - who can serve well and be authoritative with that second serve.

    *Konta 2-1 Garcia

Caroline Garcia has a really exaggerated way of tossing the ball.

She takes a long pause before looking skyward, raising the racquet up to shoulder height before tossing the ball up and whacking down two big serves to get on the board.

    Konta 2-0 Garcia

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Both Johanna Konta and Caroline Garcia are treading new ground here. Neither woman has ever made the second week at Wimbledon.

Court One isn't quite full - and I don't know why it isn't (there's no excuse not to get here for the 1pm start). But those present are already getting well behind the British number one after her flying start.

Especially the one bloke who bellows 'Come on Joooooo' like his voice has been put through a slow-mo sound distorter.

    Konta 2-0 Garcia*

Now, can the Brit back up the break with her serve?

Both players are going at the ball hammer and tongs, but it's Konta's forehand that is on point. She gets down low and belts a return beyond Garcia, before tidying up with a dinky winner.

  16. Clarke and Willis deliver great winnerpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

  19. Game and second set Muguruzapublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 10 July 2017

    Kerber 6-4 4-6 Muguruza

Muguruza is back to her best at the net now, volleying like 1980s Mark Hughes. She puts pressure on the Kerber serve and the world number one buckles for the first time! 30-40. Break point, and set point.

Saved! A stupendous winner down the line from the German. A second set point is offered up though, and she takes this one!

    We go to a third...
