"Is Murray at the top or the bottom?!" ponders one fella as he bobs and weaves on the fringes of Murray Mound.

    It's toe-tipping and neck-craning territory only.

  2. Watch an amazing lob from Mullerpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

Gilles Muller is giving the seventh seed Marin Cilic a difficult time. This lob is a great example. I don't imagine it feels great to be almost as tall as Peter Crouch and watching a winner drift over your head.

    *Muller 6-3 6-5 Cilic

Marin Cilic has struggled to cope with the Gilles Muller serve, but now in game 11 of set two, the Croat finally has his first break point of the match.

It does not last long though as Muller serves and volleys to save himself, before winning the next two points to hold serve.

    Murray 6-3 4-6 2-1 Querrey

Querrey winds up his clockwork serve and fires down another ace. A routine hold after a few games of chaos.

    Murray 6-3 4-6 2-0 Querrey

That was another odd game, from Querrey this time. Consistently inconsistent?

Murray to serve, and Querrey finds the lines with a tracer of a backhand winner down the line. Fetch that! 15-15.

He's wide with another attempt though and that's a hold. Murray leads.

  6. 'Extremely disappointing from Querrey'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

That's very commendable from Murray but extremely disappointing for Querrey. He had a lead for the first time in this match. I know it's early, but this is where you have to bear down. It's extremely disappointing for the big American to dump serve.

Murray breaks instantly in third set

It's all in the mind, sport. Well, not all in the mind, obviously. A large part though.

Murray had a 10-minute fade there and it cost him the set.

Querrey riding the crest of a wave of momentum - and then goes 0-30 on his own serve. Go figure.

He's beaten by a very odd bounce on the line, it didn't get up at all and that's break point Murray!

Taken with a drop shot, cross court, out of the very top drawer.

  8. 'Shockwaves through crowd'published at 14:21 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Andrew Castle
    BBC Sport tennis commentator

Not since 2009 have we seen an American semi-finalist at Wimbledon. Sam's saying "alright - if you don't want to win it, I will." It's suddenly put shockwaves through the crowd. Murray had lost just one set in the tournament before that.

  9. One set eachpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Murray 6-3 4-6 Querrey

Well that makes it interesting! The way Querrey is serving now, that could be important.

Querrey landed 74% of his first serve in that set. Impressive.

  10. Game and second set Querrey!published at 14:17 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Murray 6-3 4-6 Querrey

More errors in the last 10 minutes than in the whole of the match. Murray loose as anything again to boom a shot miles out, he looks at his racquet for an explanation but gets none. Second set point for Querrey - taken with a cracking winner!

  11. Cilic saves three break points to hold servepublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    *Muller 6-3 4-4 Cilic

Marin Cilic holds his serve, but has to dig deep to do so as he saves three break points, before taking the eighth game of set two with two consecutive aces.

Cilic is a set down, but we're still on serve in the second.

  12. Murray saves set point...published at 14:15 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Murray 6-3 4-5 Querrey

Murray to serve then. He has to hold to stay in the set. Querrey drifts long on his backhand to provoke a 'Come on!' from Murray. now vocal on every point pretty much. It builds in him during the match.

He slices cheaply into the net next though, much to his own frustration, and there's pressure on as he slides to 15-30...

Big service winner pins Querrey to the line, that was a massive serve. That's cheap though, tight as a drum as Murray whips into the net for set point Querrey.

Not in the script - BIG second serve sends us to deuce as Querrey fails to cash in.We go on...

  13. Murray hits a 'laser-like' double backhand winnerpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

  14. Cilic saves two break pointspublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Muller 6-3 4-3 Cilic*

A sliced backhand winner, coming into the net, gives Gilles Muller two break points on the Marin Cilic serve.

The Luxembourg man wastes the first opportunity by ballooning it long. On to the second chance and the first serve by Cilic is netted but Muller, aiming for an angled forehand winner, can only send it into the net. Deuce in game seven.

    Murray 6-3 4-5 Querrey

Murray needs to get a hold of his emotional train. It's threatening to derail him at the moment. Body language telling its own story and before you know it Querrey is 40-0 up on his own serve.

A huge 133mph ace, number five so far, and a hold for the big man.

    Muller 6-3 4-3 Cilic*

It is not easy to lob 6ft 6in Marin Cilic. But that is what Gilles Muller just does to produce a stunning point to hold on to his serve in game seven of set two.

The ball bounces on the line to take Muller to a 4-3 lead, still on serve though in this set on Court One.

Poor game from Murray allows Querrey to break

Murray would have been seriously miffed, to put it lightly, if he had not broken in that last game. Now he needs to get his blood pressure back on an even keel and hold this serve now.

Murray hits the net and shouts at himself to 'slow down!'

He's definitely smashed a few controllers playing Fifa in his time hasn't he? Maybe a TV. 15-30 after a loose approach shot is crashed past him by Querrey, looking for the instant response.

A really loose drop shot into the net offers Querrey two break points, that was abject. Broken!

Samantha Nation: Nice little beating to himself then the break! Anyone who doesn't find Murray funny must be one miserable person!

IMMSY: Would love Muller to reach the Wimbledon finals. Finally someone playing well after beating Nadal.

  19. 22 service games won in a row for Mullerpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Muller 6-3 3-2 Cilic*

Can anyone stop the Muller serve? He has just won his 22nd consecutive service game (including the last-16 win over Rafael Nadal).

Muller is one set up, but we are on serve in the second, although Marin Cilic will be keen to cut out the mistakes. Twelve unforced errors and three double faults have certainly not helped the Croat.

The Skupski brothers sound like a pair of film directors creating indie comedy classics on a shoestring budget.

Unfortunately the Scousers can't write the perfect script.

Ken, 34, and Neal, 28, have lost their first Grand Slam quarter-final in straight sets.

Ken has a chance to make amends later though - he has a mixed doubles match alongside fellow Brit Jocelyn Rae.

The prize there? A meeting with Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis in the quarters...
