    It's been a tough day for the remaining Brits in the Australian Open.

    Dom Inglot and his Australian doubles partner Marcus Daniell have lost in the men's quarter-final against Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic.

    Lucy Shuker has lost in the women's wheelchair singles quarter-finals against Germany's Sabine Ellerbrock, while former Wimbledon champion Gordon Reid lost against Shingo Kunieda in the men's,

    Meanwhile, Andy Lapthorne has lost his first round-robin match in the quad singles.

    Simona Halep and Angelique Kerber have joined Elise Mertens and Caroline Wozniacki in the semi-finals of the women's draw.

    Romanian world number one Halep found herself 3-0 down against Czech Karolina Pliskova in the first set but went on to win nine consecutive games and eventually came through 6-3 6-2.

    German Kerber, champion in Australia in 2016, thrashed American Madison Keys 6-1 6-2 in 51 minutes.

    The former world number one has now made it 14 singles wins out of 14 so far this season.

    Chung 6-4 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 Sandgren

    Chung Hyeon became the third semi-finallist with an impressive win over Tennys Sandgren.

    Hyeon is the first Korean to reach a Grand Slam semi-final after beating the American 6-4 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.

    At 21, he is the youngest player to reach the semis in Melbourne since Marin Cilic in 2010.

    He'll face the winner of Federer v Berdych.

    Simona Halep, speaking to Sam Smith after her victory: "It's nice to be in the semis. I was in the semis in the juniors in 2008. It's nice to play on this amazing court in front of everyone. It wasn't my best start but I knew I had to restart and move better which I did in the end. It will be a different challenge against Angelique Kerber. I have to be ready, be calm and try to dominate the match and finish the points. I'm not thinking about the result. I just want to play my best."

    She's wrapped up victory in just over an hour, and extended her winning run over Karolina Pliskova to 6-1. A miffed Pliskova waves to the crowd as she leaves.
