    *Halep 6-3 4-1 Pliskova

Karolina Pliskova looks like she wants to say something quite impolite loose as a net cord falls favourably for Halep.

There's some lazy tennis from Pliskova, followed up by a delightful volley at 15-30, but another shank hands Halep two breaks point.

    Halep 6-3 4-1 Pliskova*

Karolina Pliskova takes aim at Simona Halep's second serve, working a forehand down the line, before a Hawkeye challenge goes the Czech's way.

A belting serve from Halep, landing right on the line, and Pliskova has no answer to it. She's wrong footed by a whippy Halep forehand, and that's another hold for Halep.

    *Halep 6-3 3-0 Pliskova

There's a video on Youtube of Karolina Pliskova chucking her racquet to the floor in disgust during a match against Simona Halep in Sydney two years ago.

I'd keep an eye on that racquet now, as Halep darts to the net and whacks a winner over. Break point comes rattling along for Halep.

A spinny forehand from Karolina Pliskova beats Simona Halep, before the Romanian responds with a thudding forehand of her own.

Halep cranks her pace up on her serve, and a string of errors from Pliskova hand Halep the simplest of holds.

  9. Inglot quarter-final into a deciding setpublished at 05:52 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2018

Dominic Inglot joined the Radio 5 live commentary team on Tuesday for Kyle Edmund's quarter-final win over Grigor Dimitrov. Well, it's back to the day job today.

The Briton has his own last-eight match, alongside partner Marcus Daniell in the men's doubles. They are taking on Austrian Oliver Marach and Croat Mate Pavic on Margaret Court Arena.

Inglot and Daniell lost the first set 6-4 but have just won a thrilling second-set tie-break 12-10 to take it into a decider.

The British-New Zealand pairing had led the breaker 5-0 but came through to keep the match alive.
