    Querrey 7-5 3-4 Monfils*

Gael Monfils leaps into the air and punches the SW19 sky.

He's broken for the first time in this match with a wonderful forehand return that left Sam Querrey struggling to get a paddle on it and eventually flapping well long.

    Monfils is back.

Sam Querrey finds himself peering at just the slightest sign of danger for the first time in this second set, and Gael Monfils ups the ante slightly by bouncing around and offering his arms out in a "come and get me" motion.

The Frenchman rifles a cross-court forehand winner. Two break points.

    Fritz 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-0) 1-6 2-6 Zverev

A blistering display from Alexander Zverev.

The fourth seed came out today two sets to one behind and in almost exactly an hour he has blown away Taylor Fritz to complete the comeback.

German Zverev puffs out his chest and pumps his arms in celebration.

    *Querrey 7-5 3-3 Monfils

Oops, Gael Monfils stops mid-ball toss to wait for the Centre Court crowd to settle. Then eases into a 30-0 lead to a background noise of gentle applause - I bet that's a weird, soothing playlist you can find on Spotify somewhere, like waves crashing on to the beach to help you fall asleep.

    Another rapid hold for Monfils.

Paul Staveley: I always watched tennis in a kind of ‘oh, there’s tennis’ way but 10 years ago today, the Federer/Nadal final of 2008 made me fall in love with it. Perhaps the greatest match ever played.

Nicola Crabtree: I was there on Centre Court it was just the most gripping tennis match I've ever seen!

    Querrey 7-5 3-2 Monfils*

Must be slightly nerve-wracking waiting to receive a Sam Querrey serve.

The American sizzles a string of zingers before stomping off to his chair to chow down half a banana with a wry smile.

  7. Zverev breaks againpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 6 July 2018

    Fritz 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-0) 1-6 2-5 Zverev*

Alexander Zverev is almost there. He breaks again and his box are on the their feet, waving their fists in his direction.

This one is done, ladies and gents. Zverev steps up to serve for the match.

Gael Monfils looks to have shaken off that injury for now.

He's displaying his classic mix of outrageous winners and bizarre misses, but comes through another hold successfully.

Morgan Leigh Davies: I watched this largely on delay (sadly) with my mother and we were literally grabbing our faces and writhing in our seats for most of it. I was high on it for days after. The best thing I’ve ever seen in sports.

Sam Querrey on the offensive, striding into the net to pat a forehand volley away from the scuttling Gael Monfils, who just about wraps a racquet around it but can't find the target.

A straightforward hold for the world number 13.

Fritz's forehand just hasn't been as good as it was yesterday, too many errors on that side. That is his big weapon too.

Twenty-year-old Taylor Fritz is a youthful looking chap and at the minute he looks a little lost infront of thousands on Court One.

Another forehand crashes into the net. Three more break points to Alexander Zverev.

Querrey is just trying to work Monfils around the baseline, test out that hip after the Frenchman's medical timeout. But Monfils passes the initial examination with a neat forehand.

Now it's he who has the American on the run, drawing Querrey in before sticking a pick-up forehand beyond him.

The women's seeds are disappearing at this year's tournament. Madison Keys is the latest to go.

Sam Querrey, a set to the good, sits in his chair sipping on an isotonic drink.

It's scorchio on Centre Court, and many of the crowd are covering themselves from the sun in Wimbledon-branded towels, waving fans and donning straw hats.

    Gael Monfils has just reappeared.

    Fritz 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-0) 1-6 2-3 Zverev*

That's a better hold of serve from Taylor Fritz but there's no big celebration of burst of energy. The American just pulls up his shirt at each shoulder, takes a seat and stares at the ground.

He's not been able to prevent Alexander Zverev powering on today. This is the moment the German sealed the fourth set.

It's has been a strange match since they came back. Zverev looks fired up, Fritz to me looks flat. His body language is poor, lacking the explosive stoke of the ball. Like he put all his energy into yesterday. I'm not saying he's not trying, but there seems a lack of energy,
